*2 years later* (Louis is 16 Harry is 14)

Over the 2 years time, louis and Harry's friendship had been tested more than ever before. But this is the day the greatest test yet started.

"Louis.." Harry mumbled into his secret lovers shoulder.

Harry and louis were both very tired, seeing as it was 2:30 in the morning. They had been out all day messing around. Playing footie, swimming, running around the town.

"What is it?" Louis asked.

"I'm cold." Harry whined. He and louis were laying on the grass in Harry's backyard. Star gazing, as lovers do.

"It's 80 degrees out Harry." Louis was usually very sympathetic towards his 'best friend' but tonight he wasn't. Maybe it was the fact that it was so late at night.

"I'm coldddd." Harry nudged louis foot with his.

"Get a blanket." Louis smiled into Harry's neck. Even though Louis was the older one, Harry was definitely the cheekier of the two.

"Warm me Louu." Harry said wrapping his arms around Louis waist. Louis got his usual butterflies. That still hadnt changed.

"Finee. Come here." Louis gave in and cuddled up to Harry. Harry got a surge of courage and decided he was going to kiss louis. Even after the years of admitting their affection for each other, they were yet to kiss.

Harry looked into Louis eyes, and louis knew what harry was going to do. He knew it immediately. They had been friends for so long they could read each others eyes. They both knew what would happen before it happened.

Harry leaned closer to Louis, so they're breath mixed. Harry only needed to lean an inch closer and their lips would meet.

Harry leaned in just a bit closer. Right where louis' lips are.

Or where they were. Louis had backed away. For the very first time since he had met Harry, he wanted him to leave. Louis was afraid. This wasn't right, this wasn't what he was supposed to do. He was 16 he was supposed to be off getting drunk with girls not laying in his mates backyard snogging him.

This wasn't what louis should be doing. These weren't his feelings, he had mistaken them. He had to have mistaken them.

"I..Im sorry.. I shouldn't have.." Harry started. Harry was hurt louis had backed away. He couldn't understand why.

"No.. it's fine. I just.. I think we should go to sleep." Louis stuttered, sitting up.

"Oh.. okay yeah." Harry mumbled. They walked silently back into the house and up to Harry's room.

Harry slipped his jeans off, he always slept in his boxers, but louis took his jeans off and changed into his athletic shorts. Even though he never wore them.

Louis had no problem falling asleep, he needed to so that he couldn't think. But Harry lay awake, tossing and turning. Thinking why....why in the world, the boy who had always loved him, had stopped.

...............................................................

Louis woke up first, mind cleared of forgotten problems. He saw Harry laying beside him and leaned over him to kiss his cheek.

"Morning harry." Louis sat up in bed, the blankets folding back. He looked down and saw his shorts on. At first he was confused. He always slept in his boxers... then he remember. The events of last night came flooding back to him in an unwanted stream.

He had to stop with these feelings for his best mate.

"Harry." Louis shook him awake.

"Hmm.. yeah?" Harry mumbled, sitting up rubbing his eyes.

'This is going to be very hard.' Louis thought to himself.

"Mum called.. I've got to get home." Louis lied easily.

"Oh okay." Harry yawned.

Louis grabbed his stuff. " See ya." He hugged Harry. Stupid butterflies.

"Mm bye." Harry flopped back into the bed.

...............................................................

"Ill see you tonight them?" Louis grinned over the phone.

"Sure thing." The call was ended by high pitched giggles on the other end of the line.

Louis sighed. It wasn't hard for him to find a girl. Skye had always been second on his mind to Harry. They weren't very close, and louis figured it was time he changed that.

"Mum I'm going to the movies later, okay?" Louis called down the hall.

"Okay hun. Are you staying over again?" She asked.

"What? I'm going with Skye. Am I aloud to stay over?" Louis laughed.

"Oh! I thought you were going with Harry. And no, you are definitely not aloud to stay over!" There was a note of shock in her voice.

After a while louis left for the movies, meeting Skye at there.

...............................................................

"Good movie yeah?" Louis grinned at her as they walked out of the theater.

"Yeah it was great." She grinned back.

"Want to go to the icecream shop?" Louis asked.

"Yes!" Skye said immediately. Louis chuckled.

Louis felt a little bad as he walked past Harry's house to get to the shop. But he wasn't doing anything wrong, in fact this was the right thing, before was wrong. But he couldn't help the sinking feeling in his stomach.

"You play footie right?" Skye asked.

"Oh yeah, since I was 3" louis smiled.

"I play too." Skye smiled back.

"Really?!" louis almost yelled.

"Yeah." She giggled. "Since I was 7. Not as long as you."

"Well I'm pretty advanced." louis joked.

"Oh really? Maybe I should test your skill." She bumped into him jokingly.

"Lets go to the park then. You, me right now." Louis tried to be serious.

"You're on tomlinson." She started running. "Better catch up!"

"I will!" Louis chased after her.

...............................................................

That was one of the best times louis had had in forever. He had so much fun, and Skye was really an amazing person. She was into footie, and she was nice, and not a brat like most girls their age.

But it hadn't felt like when he was with Harry. There were no butterfly's. When they touched it was normal. No special feeling.

But maybe that special feeling took time. He'd just have to find out.
