What another chapter from Sans POV? Finally.

Sorry it's been so long... I actually find it more challenging and time consuming to come back to previous chapter and rewrite them from Sans POV then I do writing the actual story. Not sure how many more of these I'll do, but we'll see. Sorry if there are mistakes and such... I didn't edit so... yeah. Anyway enjoy.

Sans wasn't really sure how he felt about this whole skating business. Sure it sounded fun in theory but in practice it seemed a little... awkward. Strapping metal blades to the bottoms of his feet and sliding around on the ice wasn't his idea of fun, and never had been. But he didn't have much of a choice, as Undyne, Papyrus, Mettaton and Frisk so willingly proved. Honestly he could have just found a short cut and gone back home at any time, but he honestly didn't want to disappoint (y/n). She seemed to genuinely want him to come along, so he conceded. That didn't mean he wouldn't try to stay bitter and uninterested during the event though. Key word being try. He just couldn't seem to stay mad at her, even though he knew she was the one to give Frisk the idea of getting the others to gang up on him.

And it didn't help that she was acting utterly endearing. After she found out most of the monsters hadn't gone skating before, she jumped into the role of organizer and teacher, setting up everything with the skate's and leading them to the rink. Once there she happily helped anyone who needed it to lace up their skates, and even tracked down red balance bars for Papyrus, Asgore, and Alphys. Honestly he knew that if you pestered him enough, he'd cave and go on the ice despite his earlier protests. But until then he was going to act a mopey as he could possibly could, despite already having his own pair of skates laced to his feet.

Seemed like (y/n) wasn't going to let him sulk for long though, because after everyone was situated she skated over and quickly skidded to a stop in front of him, spraying ice over his jacket.

"You're looking a little blue there buddy," She mused, standing steadily on the ice and putting a hand on her hip. Sans rolled his eyes, trying to fight down his own smile as she snapped a picture of him on that camera of hers. Sans would wrinkly his nose up if he had one, but he settled for sticking his tongue out instead. That was enough to get her to smile, and for that he was grateful. He loved it when she smiled and never failed to make him want to smile back. But he pushed that feeling down, determined to ignore it until later. Instead he turned his thoughts to an ice related pun, but before he could say anything Undyne was calling her over.

"(y/n) leave him alone! If he doesn't want to have FUN he doesn't have to!"

Sans couldn't help but feel a smidge of satisfaction when Undyne wobbled on the ice, watching her as she rolled her eyes and started skating backwards. She beckoned him to the ice silently with her finger, but he was honestly quite content to just watch. He shook his head, and was saved when Frisk grabbed her hand and dragged her away.

Resisting the urge to call his kitten back, Sans relaxed into his position on the bench, watching as she and Frisk made laps. The others stuck to a large clump, helping each other as they learned to skate. Toriel and Mettaton were among those who knew how to skate already, so while (y/n) distracted Frisk they taught the other four to skate. Well, it was more Mettaton coaching Alphys and Papyrus and Toriel teaching Asgore, while Undyne refused help and taught herself. He wasn't exactly happy with how touchy and close Mettaton was being with Papyrus, but his brother seemed to be having fun so he left them be.

Sans didn't mind just sitting and watching while the others had fun. He was used to being a spectator, and sometimes prefered to just watch while he lost himself in thought. Only... he wasn't really thinking this time. He was observing. He watched (y/n) mostly, well, when she was in view, something warm growing in his chest every time he saw her smile. Everytime she moved out of sight he felt a little bit of loss.
