Mitch's POV
Melody finished my checkup and led me to Scott's room. It was a good ways away so, Melody decided to break the silence,
"What made you think Scott was dead?"
"Felicity, the really old nurse, told me he was. So, I guess I didn't take the news too well. I am sorry about Scott Harris though."
"Oh. Well, it was his time. He was just like your Scotty."
"Wish I could've met him."
"Anyone would've been lucky to be in his company," Melody started to tear up and I didn't know if I should hug her or tell her it would be okay, "Here's Scott's room. I'll see you later Mitch."
"But Melody-"
She was already halfway down the endless illusion. I knew I should have gone after her, to see if she was okay, but I couldn't stand in this empty hallway much less run. I turned towards the brown door that held the key to my destination. Without a second thought, I turned the knob.
It was cold against my hand. The feeling went up my arm, to my chest, and warmed my heart. There was nothing I wanted to do more, than jump in Scott's arm. The door finally opened and I was met with the blue orbs and wide smile that I first fell in love with.
"Scotty?"
Hey, guys! I just wanted to thank everyone who reads this story. Because it hit 1k and I wouldn't have been able to do it without any of you. In celebration, I'm going to do a double maybe a triple. Idk whatever you want. How do you like the new book cover? Once again, Thank you so much!
