A/n: The next chapters will be fillers focusing on conversations that August and Elle

August POV

I just got home from the studio and finished eating breakfast, when I decided to call Elle.

"Goodmorning Elle

"Morning, August. How was the studio?

"It was good, I'm feeling this album.

"Is it grammy worthy or is some of the songs worthy to be on a soundtrack to a movie or a tv show.

"Possibly Grammy worthy but you know the Grammy committee be on their shit.

"For real. Lemonade should've won Album of the year and not Adele Hallmark sad shit. *Elle

"It would be nice to win a grammy, sell out shows in big arenas, have a song on a soundtrack to a big blockbuster movie. But I just want to be real and  touch people hearts, that's all I'm about.

"hmm. I think you already have. I read the comments under post on IG and people mostly women seem to able to relate to your music. You have real stans that vibe with your music and don't care about your hair and outfits. Your music touches them and that's all that matters. Which I think you need to focus on during the times when your at your lowest.

"Thanks. What about you? What are Janelle goals?

"Right now to eat a big piece of cake and not get sick.

I laugh

"My goals is to be main Editor of Essence and I want to publish books written by me. I feel like our community should have more black writers that can relate to kids and teens. It's zero mainstream African American writers and so many white writers in many different genres. Like I love the notebook and a walk to remember but it would be so amazing if it was a black love story. Black love does exist even though white people would disagree. And black love doesn't have to be trauma based. Why can't we have a happy story?

"Wow. You're really passionate about this and I love it. I believe in you.

"Yup. I grew up reading all the classic kids books but only read one book featuring black kids and that was the cheetah girls. It should be more great books out there but publishing companies rather publish books by housewives and racists. Would you ever write a book?

"So my mom can sue me, nah.

"No. It wouldn't be autobiographical, it can be fictional. You have a voice and you should use to touch everyone you can.

"That's a good idea. If I decide to ever do that you can write it for me, be my co-author.

"Really?

"Yea.

"This is turning into an amazing friendship, I like your vibe August.

"I like yours too lil mama.
