The door opened. He stepped into the basement.

" You ready for you punishment? " He was holding a leather belt.

" He only hits to the left of you. If got move to the right every time he tries to hit you, you won't get hurt. " Amy whispered.

Okay.

I knew Amy could read my mind so I decided to only talk to her through my thoughts when he's here.

" Any last words you want to say before your punishment? " I could smell the liquor on his breath. I spit on him again. " Okay, you asked for it!"

He raised up the belt to strike me with it. I moved to the right just like Amy said, He missed.

" Oh, you want to play games. Well let me tell you something, I like GAMES!" He raise to belt up, he was going to hit the right side of me.

" Move to the left. " Amy said. I moved left, he missed. He tried to hit me in the face with the belt.

" Dock down. " For about 15 minutes he tried to hit me with the belt. But he missed each time, I just listened to Amy's directions.

" Why " he tried to hit me on the left, but I moved to the right. " Do you..... keep... moving!?! " He was beginning to get tired.

He started walking up the stairs slowly. The door slammed close. He was furious that he wasn't able to punish me.

" He will find another way to punish you. But it probably won't happen anytime soon. " Amy appeared from the darkness.

" He was trying so hard to punish me." I said out of breath. I thought for a while. The boy had to be at least my age.

Were is his family? Did he kill them too?

" I wondered the same thing too. When I was alive. " Amy said replying to my thoughts.

It feels so weird to have a person to read your thoughts. Well not a person but a ghost. It's just weird in general to have a ghost standing right in front of you!

" When did he kill you? " I wanted to know how long has he been doing his.

" About three years ago. I was not the first girl that this happened to. There was another girl with me, and a ghost like me who wanted to help us escape from here. I sacrificed myself to let the other girl escape. "

" What was her name? "

" Rose, Rose Parsley. "

I remembered something about that name. When I was in elementary school three years ago there was a special on TV about two girls going missing. One of them was named Rose Parsley. The other girl was named " Amy Johnson. " I said out loud by mistake.

" Yes, my name is Amy Johnson. I was on the news three years ago. My mother was crying out to the man who kidnapped me to let me go. But I was killed and buried in that yard out there. " She pointed at the small window that was next to me. The window was small enough to fit one of my legs through it.

I looked outside of the window. The yard was filled with unmowed grass. The rain was making mud everywhere, It looked like a swamp.

" My body rots in that yard. It's just waiting to be decomposed, to be food for the worms in the ground, to help the flowers grow tall. " I felt sorry that Amy had to go through all of this. She didn't deserve this.
