Her Christmas Wish

Chapter 3

Emily gives him a smile as she leans in and cups his face.

"How did I ever get so lucky to marry you?"

Sonny returns the smile as he shrugs his shoulders as he continues to hold her hand while staring at her.

"I'm here now. Now tell me what's going on."

Emily takes a deep breath as she holds his hand and is surprised to see a brand new wedding band on his finger. She looks up at him with a raised eyebrow.

Sonny returns the look with a dimpled grin showing her his dimples as he continues to hold her hand.

"You didn't think I'd forget to wear mine, did you?"

Emily gives him a smile.

"It wouldn't be the first time."

Sonny laughs as he leans in and kisses her before he pulls back.

"Very funny. Now tell me what's going on. What are the doctor's saying?"

Emily takes a deep breath as a few tears begin to fall as she looks up into his eyes.

"The doctor's are saying that I have breast cancer. There's a slight possibility that they'll have to remove one or both of them but they want to start me on chemo and radiation first."

Sonny then goes and gets into bed with her and holds her tight as he kisses her.

"Hey, we'll get through this. All right. We can beat this. We've beaten through everything else. I'm not going to lose you."

Emily snuggles against him as she wraps her arm around his waist.

"I knew that you were the right person to call. I know that I have to tell the rest of the family but for now can it just be us?"

Sonny continues to hold her and kiss the top of her head and then her lips as he holds her.

"Of course it can. But I want you to know that no matter what happens I love you and I'm not going anywhere."

Emily looks up at him as she leans up and kisses him deeply before she pulls back and leans her head against his.

"I love you, too. I've always loved you. No matter what comes our way or who comes and tries to tear us apart my heart is and will always be yours and only yours."

While they are declaring their love to one another neither of them notice that they have company nearby.

The unknown person walks over and stands in the doorway as they clear their throat.

"WHAT IN THE HELL IS GOING ON!"

Emily and Sonny quickly pull away from each other and turn towards the door.

"Carly, how did you find me! Did you have me followed?"

Carly glares at Sonny and Emily.

"Yes, I did. So, what. I had to know what you've been up to since she left after the bus accident. How long have you two been sneaking around behind my back?"

Emily looks at Sonny.

"We should tell her about everything."

Sonny nods his head.

"Your right. And you're right, Carly. There has been something going on between Emily and me since then. I'm sorry that you had to find out like this but the reason why it started is because Emily just found out that she has breast cancer."
