For a Monday night, the Ravenclaw Commons were unusually quiet, Luna Lovegood had just come back from her last lesson of the day, Defense against The Dark Arts. They had a new teacher this year after what happened to their teacher from last year, from what Ginny Weasley had told her, Lockhart had gone mad and hit himself with a memory loss spell, she wasn't sure what she believed, but he was much better than 'Crazy Man Moody.'  Luna despised the class, Moody was mean, Neville had told Harry, who had told Ron, who had told Ginny who had told Luna, that Moody had made Neville torture a spider with an unforgivable.  Ever since then, Luna had tried her best to ignore Moody and not pay attention in his class.

Today she had been doodling in class on her forearm and had made an intricate design in watercolour paints of an owl.  Coming back to the Common room before dinner, she had to remove the drawing so she wouldn't get in trouble from the Ravenclaw Prefects.  She was lucky that daddy had told her a quick and easy charm for removing pen ink from her body.  After rushing quickly and muttering the charm she pulled on her cloak and ran down to the Great Hall for dinner.

The food had appeared on the table just as Luna had slid in next to Ginny at the Ravenclaw table, Ginny had asked her to come and sit there tonight to discuss 'homework', which was Ginny language for gossip.  Ginny was currently in a deep conversation with Hermione about Draco Malfoy and how he might be disowned by his father for refusing to be a prejudiced prick.   Luna pushed up her sleeves as she reached over Ginny to get some rolls to go with her Shepard's Pie. She was bringing her arm back past Ginny's face with her hands full when Ginny gasped and grabbed her arm.  "Luna this is so cool!  When did you do this?  Wait.. Why isn't is coming off?"

Luna glanced down at her arm that was still holding her rolls and snatched it away from Ginny who was holding Luna's wrist close to her face, to see what she was talking about.  Dropping the rolls onto her plate she lifted her arm and and was confused at what she saw.   The watercolour owl was still sitting there on her arm, good as new.  Even after Ginny had grabbed and rubbed it, the owl hadn't smudged or rubbed off at all.  Hermione gasped, "Luna you've made a tattoo.  How did you make a tattoo?"

"Daddy taught me an ink removing charm, I was in a rush, the nargles were buzzing around my head, they were making me distracted, I must have done the charm wrong."

"Do you think you could give me one next Luna?" Ginny asked quietly.

"Ginerva Weasley, our mother would kill you." A red faced eavesdropper shouted across the table, food spitting out of his mouth as he spoke. Ginny grimaced,  "Ronald, mind your own business, and I say, let her."
