Figure it out

Cory had been on the phone with Topanga all night trying to figure out what was going on with Lucas and Maya. But they couldn't think of anything. Literally nothing. Neither of them would cheat on the other, they were way too loyal.

Neither of them could ever hurt one another. While Cory and Topanga were talking Katy was hugging Maya and Shawn was trying to get Lucas to move from his seat. That's when Riley thought about it.

Riley ran out of Maya's house and she ran all the way to Lucas's house. She knocked on his door until zay opened it "wow, chill Riley. What's up?" Zay asked. Riley walked past zay and straight towards Lucas who's eyes where still on the door.

"Maya didn't tell you did she? About James. She didn't tell you and that upset you." Riley said. Lucas looked up. "Who's James?" Zay asked "shut up I'm getting somewhere" Riley said. "So Maya didn't tell you about James, now you're mad at her" Riley said.

Riley noticed the gilt in his eyes. "No. She got mad at you. Oh that makes so much more sense! She got mad at you because you got mad about her not telling you about James" Riley said. Riley sat down in front of Lucas in the seat Zay was in earlier.

She faced Lucas and stared right into his eyes. "Now why would you get mad about James?" Riley asked. She studied Lucas's face until she finally understood. "You found out what he did to her. And you got mad that she didn't tell you" Riley started.

"Stop" Lucas said "and she got mad at you... because you tried to do something to James" Riley said "Stop now" Lucas said forcefully. "And if you did anything to James, he would hurt Maya. So you got pissed and left before he could-" Riley was cut off by Lucas standing up.

"I TOLD YOU TO STOP!" He shouted. He flipped his chair then fell to the ground. "I could've hurt her. I could've hurt Maya" Lucas said. "How?" Zay asked "he would've hurt her if I tried to stop him. I could've hurt My Maya" Lucas said.

He curled up into a ball on the ground. "But you didn't hurt her by stopping James. You hurt her by leaving her all alone. James left her alone he just wanted to mess with you" Riley said. "That doesn't matter! Non of that matters" Lucas said.

"Well then what does matter?" Shawn asked "I could've hurt Maya. I could've hurt her by staying and I hurt her by leaving, I can't do anything to protect her anymore. I hurt Maya. I hurt her!" Lucas said. Everyone's face softened. Zay got up and left.
