The sleep of reason produces monsters (inspired poem from a Goya painting)

Go to sleep, to sleep, they coo,

for tommorow shall be long.

such sensible sleep, they coo, they coo,

makes you much stronger,

take their advice,

my head persists,

as it lowers towards the table.

So sensible, so sensible, sensible they coo,

but far from it I find!

around my bench creatures crowd,

impossible, yet divine!

tigers with face of owl

owls with face of lion!

Sensible, Sensible?!!!!!

what outrage, what outrage,

these creatures cry!

for we are here,

and with craziness we shine!

Sensibility only comes,

when you wake,

and inspiration you forsake,

to be sensible is to wake!

But who wants sensible?!!!

they cry, they cry, they cry,

we prefer inspiration,

Divine, Divine, Divine!
