She looked at me with that mischievous grin. I had come to love that grin. I never knew what she was up to but it always turned out wonderfully. "Choose any word you can think of." She said it like it was nothing.

I asked her "Any word?"

"Any word. Just one." How do I choose? There are so many. The ones labeled as bad and the ones we love to hear. There are random ones and well thought out ones.

"Banana." I proclaimed. Out of all the words in the entire dictionary banana had a special meaning to me. But no one knows that.

"Really? Banana?!?" She laughed at me.

"Why are you laughing? It isn't funny!"

"I'm not laughing at you. I am laughing at a memory from preschool. There was this girl had the most brilliant blue eyes. She wore a dress one day that was pale yellow. I asked her why she was wearing that dress. She said bananas were her favorite food and the dress reminded her of them when she was sad." She stopped as if it was hard for her to continue. "I never saw her again after that day. She was my first best friend. Then I moved here and met you. I still don't know what happened to her."

"Oh... Wow. That still doesn't explain why you laughed." For such a deep story, it really did not have anything funny to it.

"I laughed because I now know who you truly are."

"What do you mean?"

"Don't lie to me! You know exactly what I mean. I have been looking for you for 15 years and you don't even recognize me!"

"Whoa! Whoa! Slow down. What do you mean you have been looking for me for 15 years? We are only 19 years old. That means we were only four! What in the world do you mean Mel?"

"Well you have half of that information wrong first off." She was getting angry now. "I am not 19 I am 25 and my name is not Mel. It is Lydia and you are not Kris Salvatore. Are you?"

"Mel or Lydia or whoever you are. You got one thing right I am not Kris Salvatore. I am Joanna Meridel Williams. Princess of Drerranad." I was being completely honest know. If she didn't think I knew who she was before she told me she had to have been stupid.

"Ya. I know. We don't have time to dillydally princess. You need to come with me before they come for you." I should not be surprised but I am.
