Alexia’s POV
My mum was driving me to my new school in her Ford Falcon car playing pop music really loud, there is not a more embarrassing way to arrive to hell than that thanks a lot mum. She kissed me and I pulled away. “Ew mum no.” She sighed, “Just be good Alexia, and behave don’t use you know IT to your advantage.” I groaned, “I won’t mum. And I would prefer you to call me Lexi, you know that well enough.” “I know sweetie, just be good.” I grabbed my bags and walked into school. I received plenty of dirty stares. What you haven’t seen a Goth before? I have never liked anyone they all just annoy the shit out of me. Well that is my cover story. My mum knows well enough the real reason, and she respects it. The real reason is I’ve never had any real friends, no-one had ever been there for me, and they all act and pretend but only because all the guys wanted me. That’s why I don’t like people much.
A girl with long brown hair comes up to me and holds out her hand, “Hi I’m Eleanor, but you can call me Ellen.” I shook her hand, “My name is Alexia-May, but call me Lexi.” She smiled and nodded, “So Lexi your new here.” “Yeah I moved here about a week ago.” She smiled brightly, “So do you want to come and hang and you can tell me all about yourself?” I wouldn’t usually do this but this is a new school and I don’t exactly want the “bitch” reputation here. I nodded, “Sure.” She walked me over to a group of four other girls who smiled when they saw me, they seem nice enough. We stopped and Ellen gestured for me to sit on the table. “So everyone this is the new girl, Lexi.” “Hi Lexi.” Everyone said in unison and they waved and smiled nicely. “Lexi this is Mia, Lily, Becca and Tarra.” She pointed to them and I waved, “Hi everyone.” Ellen sat down next to Mia and she smiled at me.
“So Lexi tell us about yourself.” “My name is Alexia-May but please call me Lexi, I’m 16, I moved from Sydney to Melbourne because I had some problems with some of the people there. I’m a Goth obviously. I’m a bit weird and I’m pretty superstitious, I am a pretty genuine friend if you don’t backstab me or bitch about me like previous “friends” did. This is weird but I believe in magic and stuff so yeah.” “So Lexi are you coming with us to the excursion?” Mia smiled. “Yeah my mum handed the note to Mr Baites this morning so I couldn’t rip it up and the first chance I could.” “So did you have any boyfriends at your last school?” Tarra winked. “No but surprisingly they wanted me because of my looks apparently and I nearly literally puked because this.” I gestured to myself and the girls frowned, “But you are really pretty.” “Yeah so gorgeous.” “Beautiful.” “So amazing in your own way!” “Well thank you guys.” A group of four guys walk over and a Chinese looking one comes up and smiles. He waves at me and I return it. “Hi Ellen I was wondering if we could talk.”
She smiled and got up, “Of course Andy!” One with a snapback smiles, “Hi Mia.” She blushes, “Hi Sam.” I look and see a Goth boy he looks at me and quickly looks away. A tall blonde one smiles and waves. I return the wave and look back to Ellen. “So Ellen will you sit next to me on the bus?” “Yes I will Andy. Hey let me introduce you to my new friend.” She walks over back to the rest of us. She gestures for me to stand up and I do. “Andy, Sam, Jake, and Felix this is Lexi, she’s new here.” I shake Andy’s hand and a fist bump from Sam. I wave at Jake and half-smile at Felix, he’s cute. He returns it and they all walk away, “So I’ll see you later Ellen.” Ellen nodded and smiled. “AWH! Ellen and Andy!” Tarra sings and laughs. “Shut up you like Jake.” Tarra blushes and I look at Ellen. “So who was the Goth boy?” I ask Ellen. “That’s Felix, the only other Goth in the school he was so checking you out girl.” The bells ring and everyone grabs their bags.
