Johnny's P.O.V The Next Morning
Today is the day that Christine can finally hear for the first time. I felt butterflies fluttering in my stomach from the excitement of letting her hear my voice. I sat by her on the bed and almost didn't want to wake her because of her angelic face that was so sweet while she slept. I put my hand on her cheek and she snuggled into it. "Morning." I said to her. She smiled a little and mumbled, "Good morning." She sat up and looked at the alarm clock. "It's a bit early." I nodded. "I'm so sorry for waking you up, Christine, but it's almost five in the morning and we have to be there by six thirty." She rubbed her eyes and nodded. I finished getting dressed and I gave her clothes to get dressed in and packed up our stuff. When I came out of the bathroom, I saw Christine brushing her long hair. I also noticed that her hand was shaking a little. Then she turned around and saw me. "Are you nervous, baby?" She looked away then nodded. I shook my head. "Don't be baby. I'll be right there to wake you up." She nodded and we checked out of the hotel and packed everything up before anyone noticed that I was around. We got in and I let her lay her head in my lap and she slept the whole way there. When we got to the hospital, which was almost an hour from the hotel, they checked her in and they got us a room. Unfortunately we would have to stay the night there. An hour passed and it was time for the surgery. I was laying beside her on the bed waiting for the doctors to escort her to the room. "Johnny I'm scared..." I kissed her forehead. "Don't be, Christine. I'll be right here waiting for you. I promise." She gave me a small kiss before the nurse came in and said, "We're ready for you." I got out of bed and other nurses came and took her away. I didn't want to let her go, but I knew that when she woke up she'd be a brand new girl. A girl finally given the gift of sounds around her.
