Chapter 3- The Dream

I was standing in the middle of what looked like a warzone. There were fires everywhere.

People were wailing and screaming as the few still surviving ran for shelter. Bodies were littered everywhere.

Blood painted the ground. And worst of all: I recognized the place. It was in Manhatten City, near the Empire State Building.

A chill ran down my spine as my blood turned cold. No... this couldn't be happening....

Suddenly, I heard a deep boom, as if someone was talking through invisible speakers.

Laughter filled the air. " Hayley Lockhart... oh you have no idea how valuable you are. Such a valuable pawn....." the voice cooed. I couldn't move.

"Come let me tell you what special... events I have in planned for you..." A invisible force pulled me forward and my eyes snapped open as I released a scream.

Chapter 4- Jamie Ryes

I bolted upright and forced my mouth shut. Before I could take in what my eyes could see, I was strong wave of nausea rolled over me. I rolled over too, and vomited over the side of the what I was lying on.

There was a loud bang of a door. I squinted my eyes until they adjusted to the blinding white light. I was in a white room, lying on a soft white bed next to a large wooden walk-in cupboard. Where was I?

A guy entered the room. He wore a gray hoodie and a pair of black jeans.

It was that newbie, except this time his hoodie was not on, revealing a tanned youth with dark, curly and messy hair.

His eyes were soft and dark, completed with full lips. He wasn't, like, as ripped as the weightlifter type of muscular but you could tell he worked out.

His radiant face was poised on concern and anxiety when he first entered the room.

We stared at each other for a while until my face heated up. Finally he broke the ice. He started to cough and gag and hurried out, pinching his nose as he went. So much for a first impression.

Finally after a while he came back in, wearing a cloth around his nose and mouth.

He bent down and cleaned up the vomit with a wet cloth and vacuum while I stood rooted to where I was, staring at him like an idiot.

Finally he straightened up to face me. " Go shower. You smell like puke. Girl's toilet's outside to the right." was all he said before he left.

Jeez. What awesome hospitality. I staggered to the door and out the corridor. The corridor was a tunnel of black, and the only other colours were from paintings hanging in frames on the walls.

Some depicted wars and battles against monsters. The monsters came in different shapes and sizes from humanoid flying figures to mutant mice.

The strangest thing though, is the people fighting them. They were obviously human, but something was wrong with them.

A short-haired brunette was flying in mid-air, launching fireballs at a horde of wolf-like monsters.

Below her, a man with spiky ginger hair and a beard was half transforming into what looked like a half donkey, half penguin with wicked sharp claws.

The lower body of dark-haired lady at a corner was invisible. A red-haired youth was beside her, holding double-edged sword and stuffing it down one of those wolfish creature's mouth.

Other paintings depicted other bloody battles, all against those weird monsters.

I finally arrived what I hoped was the ladies toilet. The moment I entered my jaw dropped.

The toilet was.... amazing Pure marble white covered the floor while a beautiful shade of gray painted the walls and ceiling.

The place was humongous and amazing. I gaped at the place for the longest time.

Each cubicle consisted of a clean proper shower place with curtains and everything, a sink, a toilet seat and a cabinet.

The place was so amazingly clean I actually felt honoured to be allowed to enter it.

At a corner, there was a washing machine and dryer, and right opposite it was a sauna and what seemed like a hot spring.

After I recovered from my shock, I grabbed a towel from a nearby cabinet. Then I went into one of the changing cubicles and took off my dirty clothes.

I made sure I had wrapped the towel around myself securely before heading out to stuff my vomit-stained clothes in the washing machine.

When the washing machine started to growl softly, it was my cue to head into a cubicle to shower.

I had a wonderful time in the shower. The water was the perfect temperature. When I finally walked out of the girl's toilet dressed in my clean clothes feeling like gold, I found the newbie waiting outside for me.

He straightened up when he saw me. " Finally. Your done." he muttered. " Why the hell do girls take so long to use the toilet all the time."

I stood before him awkwardly. " Ummm... hi?"

He stated at me, then slapped his forehead. " Duh! I forgot. Introductions. Umm.. hi. I assure you what you went through today was totally my fault."

" Hayley Lockhart, right?"

I nodded.

" Hayley Lockhart, pleased to meet you. My name's Jamie Ryes."

Chapter 5- Legacy

" I'm really sorry about what happened today. It was my stupid mistake. I was suppose to protect you and get you here safely.

"I mean, it's not like you don't have powers yet, I mean everyone gets powers by the age of 14 , but I thought maybe you weren't ready. Maybe you couldn't control them yet or something.

"Why did you use your powers? And what is it by the way? Is it like, fire balls or something?

"But anyway I'm suppose to protect you and get you here safely but I... kinda fell asleep. Don't judge me. I haven't slept in two days because of the continuous attacks.

" Kronos keeps throwing hordes of Wołtrike, Angress, Pichriv and other stuff at us. I mean, do you know how tiring it is to run for 2 hour non-stop?

"Back to topic i'm really sorry about what I've put you through. Kronos is really crazy, giving you something so difficult to kill like an Terrôtriq.

" I mean, sure you killed it pretty well and he does like a challenge, but seriously-"

" What in the world are you talking about? What the hell is a Terr- whatever it's called? What powers?" I blurted.

He stared like me. " Don't you know? Your a Legacy."
