My family, including Keidran, went outside so the doctor could examine my eyes. I was both excited and scared. Excited, because I get to see. Scared, because what if everything didn’t go as planned.

“Okay, let me just cut this side of the…cast.” Dr. Perry mumbled. The scissors snipping away, as he tried undoing the cast. “Keep your eyes close until I tell you to open them.” He instructed.

I took a deep breath, and closed my eyes, as I played with my fingers. The only thing that made me more excited was the fact that Keidran, told me how he really felt about me! And, that I’ll be able to see.

“Okay, Ryle, I’m going to put on some glasses. They’re kind of nerdy looking, but that’s how your brother chose them.” He informed, I could feel the cool hard frame sliding against my head and settling nice and comfy on my nose. “You may open your eyes now, Ryle.” Dr. Perry announced.

I did and almost fainted. This world I was looking at was…was…was amazing it looked beautiful, so many colors combined together. I blinked back my tears but I guess I couldn’t hold it. I cried my eyes out in my palms. I laughed because I sounded kind of stupid, but I couldn’t help it.

I sniffled before talking. “C-can, my family come?” I asked, wiping away my tears, and sighing heavily; a huge grin on my face.

“Of course,” Dr. Perry smiled showing his teeth. He walked out of the room, and came back seconds later.

The first person to arrive was my mother. She had tears in her hazel eyes. “Baby, can you see?” she asked, coming to hug me.

I didn’t say anything, and just simply looked at her features. My mother had hazel eyes, with nice short black wavy hair. My mom was very tall, and thin. “Where are Jason, and Keidran? I want to see them.” I cried, a couple of tears escaping my eyes as I wiped them. I was so happy.

My mom pulled away, cupping her hands on my cheeks. “They-

Right on cue Jason walked in. My older brother. “Hey, Ryle! How you feeling?” he asked coming toward me.

I nodded and saw that he had nothing with my mother. His black eyes, with his light brown hair, it pulled up a little. His face looked perfect, and friendly. I shrieked of joy, as his thin pink lips planted a kiss on my cheek. I giggled, wanting to cry some more.

“Told you the glasses would look good on her.” Jason smiled, looking at my mom.

“I guess I was wrong.” She smiled.

We talked for a while until Keidran stepped in. His black hair cut nice and smoothly. His hazel eyes, like Jason’s He had freckles all over his face. He was taller than my mom and Jason. Keidran, had a little of a small beard growing on him.

“Hey,” he breathed out, as he smiled like an idiot. I liked it; he seemed nice, friendly, but also like a bad ass!

“Hey,” I replied, smiling slightly, I shifted my weight in the bed, and looked at my mom and brother. “Do you think you guys can give us a sec?” I asked, biting down on my lower lip.

They both laughed and nodded, as they left the room. I turned to Keidran, and I could notice that he was blushing mad hard; making him look irresistible.

I giggled my fingers on the tip of my lips. “So, where’s King?” I asked, trying to hide the awkward situation.

“Oh, h-he’s—you know what just forgot about him, Ryle. He’s a douche bag, for not showing up.” He smiled, coming close to me as he sat down on my bed. I scooted to the side to leave space for him.
