The gun was loaded and ready, he swished it to the side allowing the bullets to jingle from their cages. This wasn't the time to be afraid. Aimed square on the head of the target. You could see their horror as a trickle of sweat moved from their brow. His body was slick and agile-

"How come you make fun of me when I read manga but you're reading a damn comic book?" Sophie yelled and I put the comic book on my chest. "You're a hypocrite."

"This comic book infuses more wording and plot than your damn mangas." I argue and her arms fly up in annoyance.

"You must have never read a good manga! It's a ride of emotion and if you can't see that then sucks for you." She said playfully angry though her face soon turned to a hardened expression.

"What?" I asked, this wasn't a really common occurrence.

She let out a heavy sigh, "I talked to Raina she seems overjoyed in happiness."

"And, why are you so upset? I thought you'd want your main leads to have a good relationship. Not be so tense on stage and stuff," I said waving my hand off on explanations.

"Yeah, that would be awesome and stuff...But-" She said nodding and looking to the ceiling searching for the right words to say, "But it seems like you're doing it out of spite."

"Spite!" I yelled out unable to filter my words, "There's no spite."

"Calm down. You took my words a little out of context..Maybe...I don't know, seeing Xavier and Deigo in a relationship caused you to overreact. Something like that, like how do I put this without sounding like a jerk?" She said trying to formulate a right sentence and I couldn't care less.

"You're too late. I like Raina," I admitted though I could hear the hesitance in my voice.

I didn't like this conversation. What spite? Raina is pretty and a good person to be around. She was funny and sort of relatable in a sense. She carried herself with a grace I hadn't seen much in other girls but still could let loose without embarrassment. All I could want in a fr-..girlfriend.

"Spite towards Xavier. Don't you think him abandoning you in your state after the car wreck was a little asshole-ish. Then you see him dating this guy after he said to you he was straight. Plus you just realized you ha-"

"Before you finish that sentence. I don't"

"I don't want you to date someone out of spite. You'd hurt a lot of people. Raina is a nice girl but I've never seen you talk that much with her before." She said calmly, I didn't like it.

I wanted her to go back to making fun of my comic books and yelling about her conspiracies. That stupid stuff, smiling and not looking at me with such a worried expression. It wasn't her place, why should she start trying to fit into it now?

"What about Vincent and you? You barely knew him," I point out.

"I actually knew him a little for our first year in high school. We started really hanging out now," She stated. "You just met Raina a few days ago."

"You know what, I don't want to talk about this anymore. I'll be out for a bit, maybe get some milk. No one seems to have any in movies, so what a great excuse!" I yell and grab my bag with barely any thing in it.

I walk out the door. The fresh hit of night scratches at my face and I just start walking. Without a place to go or really anything with me. Phone, wallet with like four bucks in it, and a notebook of scribbles. I do know I won't be going to the apartment for a bit.

What does it matter anyway?
Shouldn't she just be happy, like I was happy for her?
What the hell am I doing?

Better question, where the hell am I going?

I pull up to a bus stop and plop down onto the bench. The cold is really getting to me. I should've gotten a jacket and maybe not worn shorts. I need to crash at someones place.

The Jaidens; busy.
Lia; helping her mom at work.
Joseph; Parents don't want him to have friends over while they're on vacation.
Adam; Already crashing at a friends house since they lost the keys.
Thea; out of the question. If I can't talk to Xavier it'll be an awkward mess.

"Ugh, I'm screwed." I mumble to myself as I scroll through my contacts. I can't ask someone I barely hang out with if I can crash at their place. I should really expand my circle.

There's one person in our group I haven't called.

Fuck.
Fuck.
Fuck.
Fuck, my goddamn life.

I type in their number in my phone and quickly understand how this was possibly the worst idea. Though they answer.

"Hey. Why'd you call?" Vincent asked through the line.

"Umm, reason numbero uno: Can I crash at your place for tonight?" I asked.

"Don't you have an apartment," He asked suspiciously.

"Yeah, if I said the zombies from The Walking Dead are in their would you let me crash?" I asked.

"Sure, are they?" He asked and I hope he knew it was a joke.

"Yes..." I said letting an odd silence fill the space.

"Alright. Get over here. I'll text you the address," Vincent said and I heard the quick swipes of keys on his phone.

"Oh. Great, thanks a lot." I said hanging up and looking to the text.

A little uptown but guess what's a great coincidence. The bus stop and my good ol' four dollars. I waited for what like forever shivering in the cold. When the bus opened I was quick to get on paying the fee and stumbling to the back. Two other people were there but we were all spread apart ignoring each other's presence. I kept almost falling asleep until I just played clash royal on my phone (Not sponsored[Wish I was]).

I got off the bus and walked through a neighborhood that reminded me of the one in a series of misfortune events. I think first episode. I did though find the house in all it's partially illuminate glory. I knocked on the door.

"Password," The familiar Vincent's voice said.

"What?" I said confused.

"Come on, Password." he restated.

I rolled my eyes trying to recall any TV or movie references, "Swordfish."

"It's sad that I know what you are referencing. Really, all you could come up with." Vincent said opening the door. "Whatever, mi casa su casa."

He said widening the door so I could see the inside of the large house.
