Percy pov -
I sat on the edge of the dock with my feet in the lake at camp, the water helped me regain my thoughts on the events that have just ended. So many campers dead. Beckendorf and Silena were great friends to most of the campers and now they are in Elysium together, that is what Hades told us before we left Olympus, anyway I was pulled out of my thoughts when my best friend sat down next me. Annabeth.
" Hey" she said, before replied I couldn't help but look at her, those curly blonde locks that were in the usual ponytail, she wore no make-up but she didn't need it. she is beautiful. I shouldn't be thinking of that, I mean she's my best friend. Before too much time passed I said " Hey, you okay ?"
" I guess. I just cant believe its over. Happy birthday"
" Thanks"
I couldn't help it but I just stared into her stormy grey eyes, my heart doing flips inside my chest and from out of no where I had the confidence to say " I know its my birthday but can I give you present ? "
Annabeth looked at me funny but after a few seconds she said " Erm.. sure seaweed brain"
Here goes nothing. I stood up and offered my hand to her and she took it. Now that we were standing I wrapped my arms round her waist and kissed her on the lips. I could tell she was shocked but I kept kissing her I needed her to know my feelings for her. But since I'm no good for words I kept kissing. After a while I realised she wasn't responding. Well I just might of made the worst mistake ever. Then I felt her hands around my neck now she was kissing me back more intensely. After what seemed years I needed to breathe. We both pulled back. She smiled at me and said " Its about time seaweed brain"
I couldn't help but smile back and say " You know me, you don't call me seaweed brain for nothing" She started laughing and I joined.
We both lean in again and I felt her lips against mine once again, her fingers were in my hair pulling slightly, my left moved to the small of her back. We just stood there on the dock locked in each others embrace having a full make-out session. The horn sounded to signal for the campfire we pulled apart smiling I took her hand and we made our way to the campfire. This was the best birthday ever !!!
