Free at last. If magic was real she'd be flying. Flying to Rome, Paris, Abu Dhabi hell even to the North pole for all she cares. As long as it was far from home.
Living in Louisiana wasn't as magical as musicians or artists out there put it or maybe it was just her life that sucked.
Radiant.
I mean who names their kid Radiant? Like really how messed up were her parents, there are dictionaries with names even the Bible has tones of names. She imagined being named Mary or wait, was there any other female name in the Bible?Radiant thought of this as she stood in the rain at a nearby Park. Not being much of a believer she could understand her parents. The Apple after all doesn't fall far away from the tree.
But it still falls away from its parent tree. To go sprout it's own seeds wherever it wants to. Forming a new tree a new independent life. She had made a vow to herself to be different.
Different from both her birth parents, and her foster parents. She had her own share of moving homes from foster homes to orphanages then to living with strangers she was supposed to call 'mom and dad' . It was torture. She was greatful to all of them, she could have been homeless and ended up in the streets. But it still could never measure up to having your real family take care of you.
Brushing off sad memories of her past she danced on in the rain listening to the chainsmokers 'I want something just like this ,not minding the quizzical glances bypassers shot at her. They must have assumed she was crazy.
The rain suddenly stopped and reality struck. She was practically homeless, well for a day. But she didn't care it was better than leaving with her foster parents anyway. She wiped a seat and took her notebook from her bag as she sat down.
Scribbling her thoughts as fast as she could into her notebook she bit her lower lip in the process. First things first, withdraw money from the bank, second : find an apartment. With no water or lighting problems Third, call my best friend Zeus ask him if he'd like to move in with me. (Sharing rent of course) Fourth find a job. Fifth, buy house supplies. Six get dinner with other best friend Emma.
Well not necessarily in that order, her stomach grumbled loudly she was definitely going to get dinner first.
"crap, this isn't going to be easy. Planning it was so much fun, reality just sucks."She couldn't help it she was getting frustrated by the minute. She started humming, something her mother had taught her to do to help her calm down. She remembered her mother's soothing voice and the way it made her feel like everything was okay. She closed her eyes singing Breakaway by kelly Clarkson. Yes she'd watched princess of diaries a thousand times and she'd do it all over again.
It actually helped her feel less anxious. Finally, her thoughts were clear. Opening her eyes slowly she looked across the park appreciating the nature the green trees, perfect green grass, a pair of beautiful blue balls among the jungle green forest. She got lost in them for a moment.
" Wait, blue suspended balls ? Who hangs balls in the air? "She thought chuckling to herself. Being her curious self always got her into trouble but she looked Anyway. Only to notice that the blue balls fit beautifully into a perfectly sculpted face. Perfect nose, sharp jaw and...
Then she saw him.
