Chapter 1

Kidnapped

I sat down as the auditorium filled with new recruits- I mean students. I can hear their chatters of fear, as they sat down next to each other. I sighed. The school's method is horrible. I should be used to it though. After all, being Prisoner #1, I've been here the longest. Sixteen years to be exact.

I scanned over all the recruits. The usual. The tears, the scared looks, and other related stuff. I saw something that surprised me. A kid not having any emotion at all. Funny. There were several with the same look.

"May I have everyone's attention, please?" I heard the cruel man who runs this whole thing.

"You are all here because well, we somehow got you here. You were either an orphan, seriously injured in the hospital, or you were sold to us. We tell your parents that you didn't make and bring you here. Well, here is Prisoner #1, Arianna Camille Ellimac." I gritted my teeth. I really hate doing this every year.

"Hi," I started. "Welcome to Ace Academy, but known to us prisoners, Jail Academy. For the next several years, this will be your home. You may live a long life if you survive. The school trains us to go on missions, so be careful and good luck. I do this every year so bye bye." I walked off stage and I heard the principal sigh.

"You know you'll get an extra mission as punishment, right? Or worse." One of the kids in the halls asked me. I stared at him blankly.

"I don't really care."

Drew POV

"Hey Drew. Drew!" Ava screamed into my ear. I glared at her for nearly bursting my eardrum.

"Ava, you can't just scream into someone's ear." Ava's older twin sister, Gwen, said rolling her eyes. It's funny how we're the same age.

"Shut up Gwen. So what are we suppose to do again?" Ava asked.

"Well, we already got our schedules. Now I guess we go to our rooms?" Gwen replied.

"Ok bye then." I left them. I mean seriously, why were they with me again? Oh yeah. Because their the only people I actually know here.

The girl from the auditorium on the stage was the very first prisoner? What was her name again? Ar-something Ca-something Ellimac? Well she's probably been thinking of escape for years. Even though I'm adopted, I never got to see my adoptive parents home. I got into car accident on the way there with them. I'm not even sure if they were ok. I'll find and ask her sometime later.

I entered my room and saw that someone was in there already. I guess I have a roommate.

"Oh so you're my new roommate." The guy said. I scanned over him. He was taller than me but not by much.

"Dude are you checking me out?" The guy's eyes widened as he said it.

"I'm not gay." I retorted. He laughed.

"I know. I was just kidding. The name's Aaron Ellimac. Prisoner #272." Aaron said, holding out his hand.

"Drew Trent. Prisoner #9027." I took his hand and we shook.

"Prisoner #s 1, 271, 272, and 403 please report to the main office." The voice from the intercom said.

"Well that's me," Aaron said, heading out the door. "See you later!" I nodded as he disappeared from sight.

I wonder what he was called for. Oh well. Wait Ellimac?
