Chapter 19

Alec's POV

As soon as we got to the building, everyone started to separate and going to their positions. From one bark from Mrs. Loftner, everyone got their asses to work, in less than 10 minutes, everyone was ready to strike.

Apparently they didn't notice we were outside everything was going to plan, as Kim's dad was ready to give the signal, we heard a loud crash, from inside and an ear splitting scream, I'm sure that was Kim's.

At the scream, her mom gave the signal and everyone attacked. I was in the group with the other guys and we were stationed on the north of the building.

As we burst in, ten guys were facing us armed themselves, I just smirked at them, after sharing a quick glance with Pierce, and we fired without warning and quickly jumped for cover as did the rest of the guys.

After a moment, we finished them off and hurried where we heard the screams coming from, as we pushed the door opened, he were surprised no one was there, as we spread around to look around, I heard a noise a few feet ahead of me, as I trudged on, I felt someone behind me, "at last," was the last thing I heard before I was thrown into darkness.

Kyle's POV

As we went further in the building I was worried for Alec, I knew he could take care of himself, but I thought of him as a son, no matter what I would always worry for him.

I hoped that he and the other guys we okay, I was with Daniel and Lola, as we went in the first room, it was filled with weapons, and not ordinary ones, they were for torturing, I can't imagine the pain Kimberly is in right now, poor girl, what have they done to her.

Everything here was abandoned, but we left a couple bombs, they would explode when I press the detonator. As we got clearance that the other rooms were searched and empty, we went to the basement.

Everyone got together, as I saw Alec and everyone coming towards us, Alec was surprisingly calm, in that moment I knew I did a good job, so he won't show his emotions.

Giving a sweeping glance around, we started to descend the stairs, it was pitch black, as we all got down the lights turned on, it was a disaster, there was bodies everywhere, all shot and it looked like they were mutilated.

In the middle of this entire calamity, was Kimberly on the floor, as her parents rushed to her side, Alec stood still, he looked around and suddenly like a switch turned on he made a bee line to Kimberly's side with Pierce in front of him. As the four of them were checking in on Kim, everyone else was inspecting the room.

As the two sergeants came to me, they told me what I already thought, the place was vacated, it was empty, and they had escaped, and left their men for dead. It wasn't clear why would they kill their own men, I don't think it was because they were incompetent, it was confusing but right now, we needed to get Kim to the hospital. She was knocked out when I got near her, but Mr. Loftner didn't let anyone get near her.

He slowly picked her up and everyone followed suit and headed to the door upstairs to head to the first floor. I was the last to go up but as I took one last look around, something caught my eye.

As I got near it, it started to beep, but nothing more, I was sure it was a camera, I have a few of these around as well, I was just worried why it was here in the first place.

Was it because they wanted to see our reactions or was there something else hidden here that we didn't know.

As I got to the first floor, almost everyone was seated and ready to go, the guys and kim's parents were in the helicopters with the two sergeants, at ready, as I got in, they made sure all of us were strapped in, we headed to the hospital.

Daniel's POV (Kim's dad)

As soon as the helicopters touched the roof of the hospital, a doctor and two nurses rushed in and brought a gurney and placed Kim in, I didn't want anyone to tough her, but I needed to make sure she was okay so we can go back home. So she can be checked out with our doctor and placed somewhere safe and sound, and not here because this wasn't our country.

After about two hours, the doctors instructed the nurses to clean the cuts along her body and to wash her, but my wife interfered and she did it herself, as she brought cloths for Kimberly just in case.

After an hour she was cleaned and bandaged up, the doctor told the nurses to give her a dose of morphine, so she doesn't wake up from the flight he knew we were going to do, and because of the traumatic experience she had to endure.

She was cleared to fly, but to not move her much after, as I got everything arranged, I sat outside the room of my daughter, as I felt my wives presence I buried my face in her chest and just let out all the anger, stress and angus I have felt in the past days, I have always let go with her and today wasn't different.

As we hugged each other, we let out our emotions, I thanked to god over and over again, that at least most of the torture was on the outside and that she wasn't raped. I know I have a strong as hell daughter, but she is also human, and everyone has a breaking point.

"Feeling better?" my wife asked

"Yes, thank you, thank you for always being by me side, for your unconditional love and understanding. I love you, I don't know what I would do without you, you're my rock in all of this, I would probably lose my head if it weren't for you, baby," I tell her raising her hands and kissing her knuckles, and then placing my hand son her face and giving her a long passionate kiss as I leaned my forehead on hers, "so thank you always Lola, I will never be able to express the love I have for you," I told her truthfully and felt it al the way to my heart.

"I will always be at your side you fool, I love you unconditionally and nobody will ever change my perspective of you, you're stuck with me until one of us takes their last breath, since the day of our wedding I told you, and I will never get tired of repeating it to you until you finally believe it. You're mine and I'm yours and no one will ever change that, you hear me Daniel Curtis Loftner," she told me with a smirk, but her eyes were full of love, with just one look, I felt t peace at last.

I was really lucky.

"How's our daughter? Who is with her right now?" I asked getting up.

"Don't worry, the boys are with her right now, but one person is missing.." she let it hang.

We both knew who it was, but what I didn't understand, was why he was acting this way. It was totally different from when we were back home and now he's all distant. But whatever was going in his head, he better deal with it sooner rather than later. Kim needs all the support she can get, she doesn't need to deal with other people's shit, she has enough on her plate and I will not stand for it.
