Society

Four words - society is messed up. They have these ideas on what the "perfect person" is.

Society thinks girls should be as skinny as sticks, but have wide hips and a big rear-end. Girls should have flat stomachs but big chests. Or perfect tans, be tall, have long perfect hair, itty-bitty noses, big lips, huge beautiful eyes, full eyelashes, perfect eyebrows, long nails. The list goes on and on.

The problem is, no one is born perfect. It's like saying that everyone needs to be a Barbie doll.

This used to eat me up inside. I used to believe I wasn't perfect. I became, and still am, insecure. I see people who are absolutely flawless. And I start to compare myself to them. Or I get really, I mean really, shy when I'm insecure...which is all the time.

We girls start to believe we aren't good enough and we try to do whatever we can to make ourselves "perfect." But in reality, we are perfect by being ourselves.

Society doesn't see the real beauty in people. It's not all about looks; it's about what's on the inside.
