Tonks was in her common room getting ready. She had a really beautiful blue dress with sparkling silver ballet flats and a black choker around her neck. She wore her hair long, slightly curled in midnight black with blue ends to match it up with the dress. She exited the Hufflepuff common room and walked towards to the doors outside the Great Hall, tripping a few times, where she would meet him.  A couple of minutes later Remus arrived, looking very nervous.

"H-hey T-Tonks, you l-look great."

"Um thanks, you look good too."

They walked into the Great Hall, the Christmas decoration sparkled, it was amazing, like a winter wonderland.

Tonks' POV
Walking into the Great Hall with Remus' arm linked to mine was like a dream come true. The snowy atmosphere was so captivating and breathtaking, but something else was distracting me more than the decorations, just being here, at the Ball with Remus was so exhilarating and amazingly wonderful that I could've stopped breathing. I can feel his beautiful light blue eyes staring at me, sense his nervous breathing but I know he likes having me here with him. He leads me to a table near the corner and sits besides me. I wonder when he's going to ask me to dance. I know I can't dance, me being so clumsy and all but I really want one dance with the guy I love. Wait did I just say I love him, I-I mean I just really like him not love him. Anyway, I feel he's hiding something, like a secret from me. Why would he do that though, we're practically best friends, he would never keep anything from me. Would he?

Remus lead her to a table near the corner and sat down next to her. He did want to dance with her but he wasn't brave enough to walk her to the dance floor. Sirius and Marlene walked towards them. Remus got up and told her he was going to speak with Sirius for a couple of minutes. She was fine with it but she didn't do well in hiding her annoyed and aggravated look in her eyes. Sirius and Remus were just a couple of metres away from Tonks, they were whispering fiercely.

"... No Sirius I am not doing that, you know how much this affects me and I'm not going to risk our friendship because it's the right time."

"But you need to tell her, and I don't think she just wants to be friends anymore."

"What do you mean 'I don't think she just wants to be friends anymore'. Why doesn't she want to be friends with me anymore."

"All I'm saying is you need to tell her, she deserves to know."

"No way Sirius!"

"Whatever. I'm gonna leave you two alone. OI MARLENE, COMING TO DANCE!"

Sirius gave one sly, mischievous wink towards Remus just as Marlene was rejoining her date. They headed toward the dance floor while Remus trudged back to the table. Tonks was talking to Charlie. Once she saw Remus out of the corner of her eye, she got up and walked to Remus.
