DAYS HAD PASSED. Matteo had been very busy with his rehearsals. But Sarah’s face occupies his mind every night and day. How he missed the girl. It was Friday night when he decided to have dinner at Imo’s Grill and Bar.
“Good evening, Sir. May I take your order please?”
“Ah yes.. Wild Salmon Vegetable Salad with Lemon dressing, Tuscan Grilled Chicken and white wine, please?”
“Is that all, sir?”
“Yeah…Hmmmm…Wala bang band ngayon?”
“Sorry po sir. Pero wala yata silang gig this night. Nagkasakit po kasi yata si Mam Yeng.”
“Oh…Sayang naman.” Medyo malungkot na sabi ni Matteo. “How about yong lead vocalist nila? Wala ba siya dito ngayon?”
“Ah, si Mam Sarah po?” Magalang na sagot ng waiter. “Hayun po siya kausap ng Manager naming sa kabilang table.” Sabay turo sa table ni Sarah kasama si Chokie.
“I see..Okay, thank you…”
While waiting for his foods, he glanced at the table where Sarah is. Nang Makita niyang umalis ang kausap nito, dali-dali siyang tumayo at lumapit dito.
He smiled while walking towards her table which Sarah replied with a blank expression on her face.
“You’re Sarah, right?”
Napakunot-noo si Sarah.
“Do I know you?” she asked while staring at the handsome face. “I’m sorry. You look familiar but I can’t figure it out. Have we met before?”
“We haven’t met personally. By the way, I’m Matteo. Matteo Guidicelli.” He answered while extending his right hand.
Nagdalawang-isip siya kung tatanggapin ang pakikipagkamay nito.
“Hey, hey..what’s happening here?” tanong ni chokie na nakabalik na sa mesa. “Oh…” he hissed in surprised. “Matteo?! As in Matteo Guidicelli?!”
Matteo can’t help but laugh seeing the reaction of Chokie. “Hmmm..Yes..The one and only..”
“Di nga?!” Lumapit it okay Sarah at kinuha ang kamay nito. “NAkikipag kamay lang naman pala, Mam eh..”
Napilitan siyang makipagkamay kay Matteo dala na rin ng kagandahang asal.
“Ako naman po si Chokie, sir..Ang dakilang Manager dito.”
“If it is okay….I’d like to talk to you, Sarah?”
“About what?”
“Ahhmmm.. I just wanna ask if you’re interested to work with me? I mean, not with me in particular but in our agency.”
