The music blared, sprinkling it's good vibes over the numerous drenched bodies in close proximity hovering above the cooled sand. Calum waded through the crowd, dissapointed. He finally made his way to the wooden post of the boardwalk; taking deep breaths to celebrate his emancipation from the raging college zombies.
"Spring Break!" another clone of the three types of guys at celebrating tonight shouted as he passed. Calum watched as he disintergated into the crowd.
"Spring Break", he scoffed. He climbed up the wide trio of stairs and kept moving his feet across the entrances of several stores. Finally, he found a less populated area. Leaning up against the statue of one of his biggest inspirations, he decided to strike up a conversation.Considering his friends had been unphased by the invasion of brainless barely legal adults and stayed in the water; it was decided he was lonely enough. "You into Liam?" he asked the girl standing about two feet from him. She seemed engrossed in her phone, but that didn't fool Calum. He knew that technique.
"Liam?" she rasied her head. It was difficult to see much else but her brightly colored hair in the dark of the night, the phone screen illuminated just enough to show off her sea green eyes.
"Yeah", he pointed back to the statue he rested against, "He was pretty hot when he was young."
"Are you gay?"
"Yeah, he was-what no?" She lowered her head again and finished replying to the message. Her phone locked and she slipped it into her front pocket before walking away.
Calum stood alone again, the layer of water finally breaking enough for the cold air to affect him. "Her hair was really pretty", he said to no one in particular.
