"Mr. Køhler, may I have a quick word?" Lukas' doctor asked, which scared me a bit.
"Of course," I looked at him, biting my lip - a nervous habit, "Is everything okay? Is Lukas okay?"
The doctor smiled as he looked at me. "Of course Mathias, Lukas is recovering well," I let out a sigh of relief. "I actually just got done speaking with him, he'd like to see you."
I stared with disbelief. I didn't think Lukas would want to see me, let alone remember me after what happened. He barely remembered himself.
"Come again?" I blurted, having realized the doctor was still speaking during my lack of focus.
"I was saying that Lukas had a dream last night," the doctor said, his voice was calm.
"What happened in the dream? Is he okay?"
"He's just fine Mathias, please calm down," the doctor smiled, chuckling slightly, "He wants to talk to you."
"When?" I asked, my voice so loud it was almost a shout.
"Now," he said and I smiled brightly. "Finish your papers and I'll let him know you'll be up shortly. "

When I walked into the room, Lukas was staring at me and I couldn't help but stare back. He was so perfect and I hated to see him this way.
I looked around his bed. He was bandaged up along the neck mostly. I stared as my eyes began to water, thinking back on what happened.
"Lukas.." I said softly, frowning, "I'm so sorry Luke...I could've helped you," I fell to my knees, laying my head on the bed before I began to cry harshly.
"You'll be okay Lukas, did the doctor tell you that?" My voice was shaky and it wasn't a voice I'd be proud to speak with.
"I need to talk to you," Lukas said softly. His voice was soft and I choked out a sob, remembering how I could have saved him from this.
"Yes, please, I miss talking to you," I sat up quickly, rubbing my eyes and nose.
"I want to know what happened...why did I live? The doctor said I should be dead."
I stared at Lukas for a long while before choking out another sob. I covered my face, trying to get anything out, but words were failing me.
"Why are you crying?" Lukas asked, his voice sounding irritated.
I chuckled slightly, "I've missed you Luke, I've missed you a lot."
I sat on the edge of the chair. "I have no clue if you'll ever want to see me again after this. It's all my fault, I'm never fast enough it seems," I started. "Before you hate me though, I want you to know I loved you, I love you, and I will always love you. You'll always be my Norwegian Prince, even if you hate me."
Lukas stared at me, confused, "What do you mean you love me? Aren't you just a friend or something?"
My heart twinged with pain and my eyes began to water again, "Lukas, we are- I hope are is the right word still- dating and the day of our four year anniversary was the day you should have been dead."
