Ugh, will this ever end? We've been sitting here for an hour and I can't take anymore. She's killing me.
Slowly.
And painfully.
No one is paying attention. No one cares. Why does she continue?
Brrrrrriiiiiiiinnnnngggg!
Saved by the bell, for the last time!
I jump up and throw the few things I have in my backpack and rush for the door. Outside Annabella is waiting for me, to ride home from this godforsaken place, one last time.
"I could not take another minute of Mrs. Johnson's story of her 'experience of a lifetime.' Seriously, no one cares!"
"Haha, hi to you too Elizabeth. I assume she was giving you the same life speech she gave all of her other classes."
"'I was thrown out of three different colleges and look at me now! I'm doing the job I love most, putting children to sleep with my witch's voice and boring life lessons.'" I said this in a cracked, old lady voice.
We both busted out laughing. It was our last day of highschool and the last thing we cared about hearing was some pep talk speech on learning from failures. We were free.
We walked over to the bike racks and Annabella told me about her biology class. It sounded like a similar story to my last class of the day. I swept my long brown hair into a quick side braid and fastened my helmet.
"Safety first!" I exclaimed.
We both giggled and walked our bikes out of the school courtyard.
"So how did last night go over? You told me you were running late. Was Bryson upset?"
"He was a little upset but he had had a long day. He understood when I explained it to him. We had a nice night cuddling on the couch watching tv together."
Annabella stopped and gave me a look. It was one of those looks where she was saying, "I know there's more to that story than you are telling me." I hate that look.
"Nothing happened, I'm fine. It was just a misunderstanding!"
She touched my cheek softly, "If that's so, then what happened here?"
"I tripped. You know what a mess his house is. It was stressing me out so I wasn't paying much attention to where I was stepping but more to what I was stepping around."
She she gave me that green-eyed look again and then just sighed. She knew that wasn't the truth but she also knew that arguing and pushing would get her nowhere. We've had discussions like this before and neither of us wanted the same results to happen.
"All I'm going to say is that you should really try and get help. This isn't healthy nor is it safe. I'm worried about you."
"I know, but he really does love me, and I love him. He just had a bad day. I know what that's like and I can't blame him."
The rest of the bike ride was left in silence save for some small talk about our day and wat we had planned for our futres and possibly college. I didn't know if I planneed on going to collefe. I had Dillan, my little brother to take care of, a job and I also had byron. I couldn't lwave him. I love him and we plan on getting married.
When we got to my house I said my goo byes and went inside. She continues to her house from here. I walked inside nad remembered that she had borrowed a pen from me in spanish class and i really wanted it back. I ran outside.
"Annabe-"
I stopped in my tracks. Annabella was standing there. No, not standing. She was floating. She was flying. She did not touch the ground.
