(Authors Note) My first attempt ever writing a story and if you noticed any spelling errors or other writing mistakes please tell me so I can become a better writer. Some parts may be different from the book and some scenes are not even in the book.

Mal's POV

"So I gave her the brochure for music camp, but then I printed out the application for this camp. She didn't even notice! She was so determined to ship me off SOMEWHERE for the summer, I figured I might as well get to choose."

"Sure, kid." grunted the taxi driver.

"Thanks for the ride! I'll keep your number in case I need a ride into town, huh?" I say.

"Yeah, whatever you want." I drop a twenty in his hand and walk into camp. Guess I should explain myself. My name is Mal, I'm not really tall but not short either, and my eye color is hazel. I'm eleven with black hair half shaved off and the other half short and my parents forced me to go to a summer camp.

I kept walking looking for the Roanoke cabin when I noticed a girl having trouble with her bags. "Hey." I said. "Need help with that?"

"Oh! Uhhhh, that's okay I think I got it--" She paused then said "I mean. Um. Sure." She gained a slight blush.

"God, she's so cute." I thought. The girl in question was a bit taller than me, with long blonde hair in a braid. She was pale and was wearing a green long sleeve shirt and brown shorts. She also blushed a bit when I talked to her. I hope I wasn't blushing.

"Which cabin are you in?" I asked.

"Roanoke cabin? I think? I mean I got signed up kinda late, I hope that's where I'm supposed to go..."

"Hey, I'm in Roanoke too. We can look for it together!"

"Really?!" She said smiling. "Yeah! That would be awesome!"

"I'm Mal." I say.

"Molly" She replied. "This is gonna be a fun summer, huh."

"Yeah." She pause for a second "I think it will be."

(Author's Note Again) I DID IT YES! Was the story good so far? I don't know. You guys tell me if you think I should continue this. Thank you for reading humans and thank you to my close friend for writing so much to make me curious as to why. Now I must quickly publish this before I chicken out. Bye bye!
