Mal's POV

Me and Molly were walking around, looking for the Roanoke cabin. "So."

"So."

"Why did you come to camp?" Molly asked.

"My mom sent me." I replied. "I tricked her by handing them the brochure to a music camp but the sign-up sheet for this camp."

"Wow! You're really smart." Molly exclaimed, which made me blush.

"It was easy, she just really wanted to send me somewhere. What about you? Why are you at camp?"

"Look!" She pointed "Roanoke!"

"Cool, we found it." I say but I can't help but feel Molly avoided the question.

Molly's POV

Mal walked into the cabin ahead of me, as if she was my bodyguard. "Is this Roanoke?" She asked the other three girls in the cabin. I noticed one of the girls sitting on a bunk with a stuffed animal.

"Oh, man a unicorn!" I exclaimed.

"His name is Mr. Sparkles!" She chirped. The girl I was talking to was short with short brown hair with dyed blue, she also was tan. The other two girls in the cabin were standing next to each other.

One of them was pale and had red hair as long as mine. She also had a natural pink blush. The girl next to her was as tall as me, maybe taller. She had short brown hair and was tan, similar to the other girl.

"OH THANK GOODNESS YOU'RE ALL HERE I'M SORRY I'M LATE SOMEONE SPILLED A JUICE BOX ALL OVER MY CLIPBOARD!" Someone yelled.

We all turned to see a dark colored girl walk into the room. She had long poofy black hair, was wearing a uniform and was as tall as me and the other girl.

"JEN!" Yelled the tiny one as she ran up and hugged her.

"What the--?! What did you all do to her?" Jen asked.

"MAKEOVER!" Sang the redhead.

~Le time skip fills you with DETERMINATION!~

We walked outside and sat in a circle to introduce ourselves. I sat next to Mal.

"Okay so what are your names?" Jen asked us.

"Molly." I say

"Mal."

"Ripley."

"April."

 "Jo."

"I'm Jen."

"Okay," I thought to myself "Remember, Ripley is the smallest, April is the redhead, Jo is taller than the others, Jen is the counselor, and Mal's the cutie. Wait what? I mentally slap myself "Not right now Molly."

"Now, how old is everyone?" Jen asked

"Twelve." I say.

"Same." Mal says.

"Ten!" Exclaimed Ripley.

"Twelve."

"Twelve." April and Jo say

"I'm sixteen." Finishes Jen. "Time for the rules! 1: No harming wildlife, 2..." I looked over at Mal and got lost in thought. Again. "She's real pretty but she might be straight. With my luck she is probably straight." "No going into the woods, finally, and most importantly, no leaving your cabin after dark." Jen said "A lumberlock means lumberSAFETY. Now let's go to the mess hall to learn some camp songs! You can also meet some other campers. Right on schedule as well..."

"RIPLEY!" I yelled. She had just gotten up and ran into the woods.

"MR. SPARKLES!" She cried. We all stood up and everyone, except Jen, ran into the woods after her.

"Wait. THE SCHEDULE! And don't go into the woods!" We just kept going.

"Whatever little animal took Mr. Sparkles is heading for the river!" Jo exclaimed

"Split up! We've got to head it at the pass!" Mal ordered.

"Wait! DON'T SPLIT UP! OH COME ON!" Jen yelled behind us.

"AH-HA!" I heard April shout, followed by two "OOF!"'s and the little animal heading our way.

When it reached us I realized it was a raccoon. I was standing by the drop off so it could not go that way and Mal and Ripley cornered it against a tree, which it ran up.

"Nooooooooooo..." Whined Ripley.

"Hmm..." Mal mumbled "Ripley! Get on my shoulder!" Mal said suddenly, leaning down so Ripley could climb up. Ripley looked confused for a second, then smiled and climbed on Mal's shoulder. Half jump-half throw Ripley launched at the raccoon yelling

"YESSSSSSSS!" The raccoon in turn, jumped onto Ripley's head, off Ripley's head, bounced off Mal's face and ran towards me, not realizing I was there.

"ARE YOU SERIOUS!?" Mal yelled at the raccoon, which accidentally ran into me and pushed me over the drop-off.

"WOAH--" I yelled. "AH--AHHHH!" "OOOF!" I yelled when I landed in a pile of leaves. I placed a hand on my throbbing head. "Woah..." I gasped when I looked up. There was a stone statue face sticking out of the drop-off. I was brought back to reality when I heard a

"Squeak?"

I turned around and saw the little raccoon. Which was still holding Mr. Sparkles.

"I'll take that." I said removing the unicorn from the adorable creature grip.

"Mrrrr." They whined.

"Aww. You just wanted a friend didn't you?" I asked.  "We have to take Mr. Sparkles back to his friend but i'll be your pal." I lifted them up. They climbed up my arm and onto my head. I climbed up the rocks back to the path. "We're going back to the Lumberjanes camp, you'll make a awesome scout I bet." I said "I'll call you Bubbles"

When I got back to the other girls Mal hugged me, which made me blush.

"We were worried about you." She said. "Jen wouldn't let us look for you."

"Come on."Jen sighed "We're going to be late for the welcoming." We went over to where everyone else was gathered.

"Hello everyone! WELCOME TO CAMP!" Rosie shouted so we could hear. "I think we're going to have a VERY interesting summer together..."
