Chapter 3
Molly's POV:
"Why do we have to go to the lake? Out of the whole group it had to be us."
"What's wrong with the lake?" I asked
"Do you know all the creatures that live in the water? They'll try to kill you the moment you step in! Not to mention the water itself will try to drown you!"
"So you're basically scared of the water?"
"No! No..." She said blushing and then she sighed. "Yeah. When I was younger I almost drowned."
"Hey, I don't think we have to go in the water." I said, attempting to cheer her up.
"Yeah, let's just go check it out then find the others."
~
"There are spiders everywhere." I whispered.
"Yeah they look really gross, they have like, seaweed hanging off of them." Mal said, sticking her tongue out. I felt something slimy on my leg so I looked down. There was one of the spiders climbing up my leg. It was hairy, slimy, and had stuff hanging off of it."
"Eek!" I screamed and kicked my leg in an attempt to get the spider off. In the process of doing so, I fell backward. Mal caught me before I hit the ground.
"Woah there." She said
"One of these weird spiders was crawling up my leg! It was slimy." Mal started laughing.
"Well, we looked around and couldn't find anything. Time to start heading back?"
"Yeah."
Mal's POV:
"Over here, I see a flashlight beam." I said, pointing to a beam of light cutting through the dark. We crept up behind the person holding the flashlight. They turned around quickly, blinding us with the light.
"AHHHH!" We yelled in unison until April's hands covered our mouths.
"Mal, Molly, what in Joan Jett are you two doing?"
"April, the only thing we found by the lake was really weird and gross spiders--"
"So we came looking for you--"
"Because the spiders were so gross--"
"But mostly because we didn't find anything." We used our fingers to emphasize.
"Well keep it down, will ya?"
"Yeah, this is a stealth mission ya dweebs." Jo added
"We're never going to figure this out if we can't even find--"
"AAHHOOORRR!"
"Looks like something found us instead" Jo grunted.
"Mal, what do you think? Little Red Formation?" She asked as we were surrounded by three-eyed foxes.
"April?" I asked.
"TO GRANDMOTHER'S HOUSE WE GO!" April yelled, throwing her fist in the air.
"Guys, that wasn't... I mean... okay, this is happening." What was going on was Jo was dodging a fox that was trying to bite her, April was punching another fox, and Molly was fending off one with a stick she must have picked up.
"MOLLY, WATCH OUT!" I heard April cry. I turned around and ran from a fox that was chasing me and saw Molly's situation. She was holding off a fox with the stick, but the Fox was on top of her, making it difficult. The next time I ran past, she had gotten the fox off of her and was laying on their side.
We all got back into our defensive positions, (Minus Molly, who was now petting the fox.) when Jo asked the Million Dollar Question.
"Where's Ripley?"
"WHAT WACKED-UP EYES YOU HAVE!" We all turned to the source of the shout and saw Ripley swinging from a tree branch onto a fox's back. "All the better to punch you in! Yeah!" Ripley yelled, allowing her fist to connect to the fox's third eye. Everyone paused (Foxes included) to watch the aftermath.
"Yipe." Ripley cried as the fox turned to dust below her.
"What the junk!" I asked
"AAHHOOOOORRR!" The foxes sang in unison, their eyes glowed as they said the same thing as the words that appeared in the sky. "Beware the Kitten Holy." I was aware of Molly grabbing my arm. Cute. I thought. "What. The JUNK?!" I asked. "We should probably get back to camp before Jen wakes up."
Molly's POV:
We all got up and started heading back to camp. Mal slung her arm around my shoulder as we walked. Calm down it's just a friendly gesture. She's probably straight after all. I reminded myself. But what if...
"Come on Jo!" April yelled dragging me back to reality.
"And then Jo was like BOOSH and Molly was like KACHOW and you were like--"
"That wasn't the plan though! That's not what Little Red Formation IS!" Mal growled.
"What were those things?" I asked. "And what was the thing about the kitten?"
"I like kittens." Ripley giggled.
"Beware the Kitten Holy."
"You wrote it down?"
"Just in case."
"In case what? There's a quiz?" Mal teased.
"I don't know. MAYBE! I mean it obviously means something..."
"Holy Kitten, how weird."
"I like kittens!" Ripley yelled.
"Oh my Bessie Coleman can we just worry about getting back to camp before Jen wakes up? We can decode the cryptic message later." I snapped
"Okay, okay. Cool your jets." Jo said. We made our way back to camp. Mal was talking about someone named Marceline, but I was only half listening. I was thinking about the kitten holy. When we neared camp, I ran ahead to check our path. I stood under the sign that read "Miss Quinzella Thiskwen Perniquiqul Thistle Crumpet's Camp for Hardcore Lady Types: Friendship to the Max."
"Go! Go!" I whisper/shouted to the others, before running ahead again. I put my finger to my mouth to show the others to be quiet before opening the door to the Roanoke cabin. "All clear." I whispered to the others and started climbing up to my bunk. The others slipped into the cabin and started heading to their bunks. Mal to the one below me, Jo to the one above April, April to the one under Jo, and Ripley to either one she wanted to sleep on tonight
"NOT all clear!"

WOOO! 57 VIEWS? WOW! Do you guys like this story? Thanks for being patient with me by the way, I sorta lost a lot of inspiration for this story but I'll try to update more now! I have another Mally story I started writing called "Scars". I don't really want to upload it because it has a bunch of trigger warnings. (ex: Mentions suicide, self-harm, bullying, abuse, swearing, etc.) So if you want to see that tell me? Until next time, my campers.
(EDIT: I found out the answers to my questions and it was no :p)
