A week into the Novak and Winchester placement, there was three loud bangs on the door. Whoever was on the other side was clearly pissed. Lucifer got up cautiously, seeing as he had taken charge of the group. Raphael had managed to slip off to god knows where not that anyone minded. Sure he was a sibling but he never was around much often. Lucifer carefully opened the door. He was greeted by a redhead with a face almost as red as her hair.
"Charlie! What are yo-"
"Shut it." She hissed. She spoke in a tone Lucifer did not expect to come out of the lighthearted girl. "Living room. Now. Group meeting." She stepped in and slammed the door behind her. She stalked into the living room and perched on the arm of a chair. Everyone congregated in the living room, fidgeting uncomfortably at the icy mood radiating off of Charlie.
"How dare you?" She hissed. "How FUCKING dare you!?" Her voice rose to near hysterics. "You-you can't just take off like that!" She shot up from her seat and paced the entirety of the room. "Seven days. Seven days I waited. Making excuses. Maybe you guys threw a party and got too drunk to come to school. Maybe you all got each other sick. Maybe you all went to visit family. I kept making lame excuses. Kept justifying the reason you guys disappeared. But then I hear about the jailbreak." She stopped, her red hair flying everywhere. Her eyes were livid with anger, with an underlying look of distress and worry. "I thought you were kidnapped again! I didn't know what happened to you! You left without a text. I didn't even need to know where you were going. Just that you would be alright!" She exclaimed throwing her hands up. Everyone was silent, shuffling feet and sniffles were all that could be heard in the quiet room. Samandriel slowly stood up.
"We're sorry Char-" He was cut off as the girl tackled him in a tight hug. "Can't. Breathe."
"Don' care." She muttered, still seething. She let go and stepped back. Her eyes raked over everyone in the room.
"Hey, how'd you find us?" Lucifer asked. Charlie held out her hands and wiggled her fingers.
"Hacker. Remember?" She grinned, not going to elaborate.
"Charlie.... you shouldn't be here." Michael cautioned.
"What do you mean?" She asked with curiosity, momentarily forgetting she was supposed to be mad.
"You'll find out soon enough." He sighed. "We're gonna be in trouble guys." A series of soft chuckles echoed around the room. Lucifer swooped over, snagging him by the waist and tugging him close.
"Aren't we always?" He asked with a smirk. Michael couldn't help but smile.
"Yeah. I guess so." He hummed as Lucifer pressed a reassuring kiss on his lips. Charlie, despite being thoroughly pissed with everyone in the room, let out an involuntary squeal as her ship was being cute. Lucifer glared since she ruined the moment and moved away. He hopped on the couch and Michael took a seat beside him. "Tv?" Charlie dropped to the floor, looking over at them expectantly.
"Give me the remote." She demanded. No one was going to argue with the red head whose temper was as fiery as her hair. She caught the remote as it was tossed to her. After spending a few minutes searching, she squealed happily as she saw a Harry Potter movie had just started. "We're watching this. No complaints."
"But I haven't seen the others! I don't wanna spoil anything." Adam said smartly. Charlie grinned.
"Good thing it's the first one." She grinned cheekily.
The movie ended, and Charlie leaped to her feet giddily. Loud knocking echoing through the house. Everyone jumped simultaneously. Lucifer tensed up and stalked towards the door. Charlie watched with saucer-like eyes, whoever was on the other side of the door was clearly upset.
"Second time today an angry person has come knocking on our door." He commented dryly. Lucifer opened the door and was instantly pushed back by Rufus.
"You!"He pointed at Charlie. "Great. Just great! You couldn't keep your nose out of everyone else's business. They were fine until you got here. Little miss hacker get bored? Couldn't help yourself. Had to pry at things? Now, because of that, you're going to have to be placed with them. Now, we have to move you all. Get packing." He snapped angrily. They scrambled upstairs to pack, quickly shoving everything they needed in their suitcases. He shot a look at Charlie, the only one remaining. She puffed up a bit, seething once more.
"Listen here, sir. I was not being nosy because I was bored. These guys, they're my family! No matter how screwed up it is. Everyone else back home is worried sick. I managed to track them down. Now, accuse me again! I know you're worried about them. I know. I am too! I may not know what's going on. But I sure as hell want to know. So stop being such an asshole to me. I only want to help. Like I said, they are my family." She hissed. Rufus looked at the girl and sighed heavily.
"Right. You're right, I am sorry." He shook his head. "I am just worried. You kids should not be caught in the middle of all this mess. I'll have someone collect your things. I never realized you lived alone," he paused, "Celeste." Charlie tensed up.
"Please don't." She murmured, shaking her head quickly. He nodded, giving her a gentle slap on the back before pulling his phone out and moving away to call someone.
Another placement later everyone had to change their looks again. And names. Charlie fought tooth and nail so they would not cut her hair. She was pissed enough about them dying it. After a bit of a fight, she was allowed to keep her hair, much to the delight of the other girls who were eager to do things with her hair.
Many hours, and squabbles, later they finally got settled into their new house. Charlie once again rounded everyone up.
"Okay, tell me everything." She demanded. So they did.
