A/N- Adara's singing voice will be Demi Lovato's because she's just amazing. So just pretend that Adara has Demi's perfect voice and we'll be good to go :)

"I'm Louis Tomlinson."

I waited for her reaction. The wide-eyed look she'd soon give me, her breathing would increase and she'd beg for an autograph. I digged my nails into my arm.

"Cool," she merely said and nodded. "Do you think they'll let us have seconds?" Adara asked and leaned into the light. I gaped at her face. Slightly, though, ever so slightly.

For there were fine little scars covering her jawline, her cheekbones and neck. When I looked at her hands, they held even more scars.

I don't think she has done this to herself. I glanced at my cuts - they were still pink and raw from my early shower.

I guess I had kined of zoned out for a second, because before I could say anything a teacher (well, I presumed it was a teacher because what else are they?) called us all to order and told us to get to our first introduction assembly, followed by class.

I looked at mine - Singing. I glanced at Jace's, whose read Drumming. I was relieved when Adara's matched mine.

"Come on guys, I want to get good seats." Adara pleaded and pushed me slightly towards the door. I stiffened from her playful touch. Was she teasing with me? Being friendly? I don't know what to think when nice girls talk to me.

So me and Jace were led to the big assembly hall and settled into the fifth room with a bunch of the brass students. It took five minutes for everybody to get into their seats; I noticed Robyn and her crew had opted for the front row.

Adara was great to sit next too. For once, I felt comfortable as she nattered on and I loved her smile. And I got a waft of citrus scents when she flicked her hair. She kept up the animated chatter with Jace, always including me. I imagined what on-lookers would think of us. They'd think Jace was the all-round good guy, I was the moody and sullen boy and Adara would be the friendly, lovable, funny girl.

Wait, lovable? I can't love. I stopped loving after the accident. I can't go through with losing people again. I can't let people get closer to me.

I swear I will never love again. The only people I do love are the boys, but I even hold them at arm's distance.

Okay, I'll rephrase that.

I swear I will never love anyone other than the boys.

The director stepped up onto the platform and stood behind the microphone liked he belonged there. I recognised him - Kian O'Grady, the world renowned talent scout. If you wanted to impress anyone, it was him.

"Hello boys and girls, I am so happy to welcome you to Northdene Music Camp!" He shouted into the mic, his sandy blonde hair mussed up into spikes and his brown eyes twinkled. "I know that this year we have loads of talent, so I expect all of you to sign up for the Talent Show! The winner will recieve §25,000 and an automatic scholarship into a prestiege university of your choice." He carried on, not fazed by the clapping and whistling that had started once he said the prize. Adara glanced at me and rolled her eyes. I smiled whistfully.

He went through all of the protocols - the dorms remain gender separated and anyone caught in the other gender's dorm (say a boy sneaks into a girl's dorm after hours) they will get kicked out. No exceptions.

"Now go and make some music!" Kian cheered into the mic and we all clapped, then were ordered to go to our lessons.

Me and Adara headed towards the buidling labelled "Vocals". It reminded me of the recording studio back home. Inside were about fifteen or so kids, all huddled in different cliques. Great, Robyn's here with a backup of prissly girls. There was a large room with a piano, a door which led to the recording room and another to monitor the recording room.
