I was anxious but also excited about executing the plan as now I had my partner in crime with me, my brother, Sam.

He had sensed that something was drastically wrong when I had used my scarcely-used spare number to call him the day before, and he came to our farmhouse to check on me. The farmhouse was the safest option for me to hide as it was in the outskirts of a different city; no one, not even my best friends, knew about its existence. Another reason behind using the farmhouse was that my family would not be worried about me. I had not confided into my family about the fact that I was being chased and I had witnessed Jessica's murder. I did not want to worry them; I had done my own first aid on the fateful day before going home. They knew that Jessica was "missing" as stated by the police who didn't believe my "story." As soon as Jessica's missing report was registered, I went to the police again. They said that they will look into it and asked me to go home, but I could see that the lack of evidence still made them doubt me. When I had informed my family that I had come to live at the farmhouse, they thought that there was something fishy and tried to ask me, but I refused to divulge any information and they did not question me any further. I didn't want to trouble them and drag them into my danger- and problem-filled life. But I couldn't hold it back any further, and hence, when my brother held me in his warm embrace, I spilled the beans. Saying that my brother was shocked would be an understatement, but he gathered himself, scolded me for not telling him earlier, consoled me, and promised to help. I was glad that he trusted me without any proof and realized how stupid I was to not tell him earlier.

Now, it was time to get into some action.

In the evening, I saw them stepping out of their car. The time had come, and I quickly warned Sam. We switched off the lights and hid. I could hear them climb up the two stairs that led to the main door. First, they knocked softly, and then they started knocking in a way as if it was a matter of life and death, which it was.

When I didn't respond, they broke into the house. They called me with their creepy voices and decided to split to look for me. I came out of hiding and went quietly behind Jason while Sam followed Ben. BAMM!!! They were lying on the floor, unconscious.

When they gained consciousness, they found themselves tied to their respective chairs. Their face depicted mixed emotions of shock and rage.

"How dare you? How dare you hit and tie us? This will lead to dire consequences. You don't know what you have gotten yourself into. We would have just given you a quick, painless death, but it seems you don't want that." Ben lashed out.

It was my turn to laugh.

"Did you actually think that I would just sit there and wait for my fate or rather you people to decide the course of my life. I want nothing but revenge. I couldn't let you people kill me. I had to do something. How do you think you got to know that I was hiding here? How do you think you were able to reach me? It was all a set up." I said proudly.

"I know you expected me to be alone, sitting at some corner, waiting to be killed. Jason, you know me very well. How come you didn't realize that I am not weak? I will take my revenge regardless of the consequences. I will get you people punished."

"We all know that you are not weak, but we are not fools either." I slowly turned around hearing the familiar voice.

I did not how to react when I saw the person to whom the voice belonged to. I had not contemplated this.
