Lynus was micro-upgrading his Viking when Bryan came into the room. He looked up from the interior of his hull.
"They're dead", Bryan broke the news grimly. Lynus looked at him, stunned. Very, very stunned.
"But... but," Lynus struggled to talk properly. "Why didn't they accept our apology?
"Perhaps it's because they don't believe us", Bryan told Lynus. "I have to go meet Tristan and Zheng Kang. Personally. I might have an idea on where they live."
About three years ago, Zheng Kang brought Bryan to the farm which he used to live in before the clan was formed.
While Bryan was checking the maps, Lynus watched the instant replay of the attack from the camera in Ernest's tank. After a while, his brow furrowed and he used the special statistic view function.
"Bryan!" Lynus shouted incredulously. "When did the Bouncing Lions get altered Twins M3s?"
"What? Aren't they using M2s?" Bryan whipped his head around.
Lynus pointed at the Twins on the Mammoths. The special markings confirmed it- they were Modification 3s. Lynus glanced at Bryan, who was deep in thought.
Suddenly he jumped up from his seat and bolted to the defences. Lynus stared at him before chasing after Bryan.
"They're coming, I just know it!" he exclaimed as Lynus signalled for him to stop, panting. "You see, they just obliterated one clan a week ago out of rage! We have to go!"
They soon arrived at the guard tower. Bryan picked up the telescope and scrutinized the area while Lynus scanned the radar. Sean, who was on duty at the time, looked around with a bewildered expression.
"I see movement! IN the trees!" Lynus exclaimed.
Sean activated the heat sensors and found that there were indeed patches of warmth... inside the tree canopy. Above the ground. Near the branches and the leaves.
Bryan turned his telescope and looked at another identical telescope staring right at him. Neither reacted for a few seconds.
"Duck!" Bryan cried and fell to the floor. Bullets sprayed at them and Sean spied a Vulcan hiding- you guessed it- IN the trees.
