"Don't tell anyone about the back pain." A voice said to me. I couldn't see anything. I couldn't identify the person or their accent. It was definitely a girl. "You'll wake up in some moments."
I wanted to ask her who she was, and what had happened to me. But I couldn't talk. I just couldn't.
"Don't let that James kid say...." The voice started, but couldn't finish, as I started gaining vision.
I couldn't see clearly for a long time. But when I could, I had a splitting headache.
I didn't have peripheral vision for several minutes, due to the pain in my back.
But as soon as I gained vision, I saw white. Then I realized it was the ceiling. I was definitely at the hospital.
I tried to turn my head around, but my head hurt really badly. I cringed.
"Get the water, quickly, she's awake!" I heard someone say hurriedly.
For some time, I only saw the ceiling above.
After that I saw some heads hovering above me. It looked like one of those scenes in movies where the surgeons have scary instruments in their hands and then they just stick it into the person's body. That just made me more scared.
I felt some moisture on my lips. I parted my lips slightly as I was thirsty. The water entered my mouth. I drank very little at a time, as I was laying down and I didn't want to choke.
"How are you feeling?" I heard a woman ask me. What did that question even mean.
"I'm fine." I said in the best possible voice.
"You blacked out, because you were exhausted." The doctor told me. Just exhausted? Nothing about the back pain? I remembered the voice that told me not to say anything about the back pain, so I shut up. I knew I was just hallucinating about the voice in my head, but just in case.
I nodded.
"If you want something, just ask one of the nurses." She smiled at me and walked away.
"Um." I mumbled. Two nurses dressed in white. "Can you help me get up?"
They nodded. They slowly lifted my head up and one of them held my back. The pain shot through my back again. I stopped myself from groaning, as the voice in my head had told me to.
I looked around the room. Nothing different. The same layout of a hospital room.
"Can I have some water too?"
From the table on the desk, they filled a glass with water from a porcelain jug and gave it to me.
As I sipped on the water, the door of the hospital room opened.
James and David walked in.
"Adri, are you okay?" David asked me. I scanned behind them, to check if Diane was there. But she wasn't.
"I'm okay." I replied. "Where's Diane?"
"She's coming. The paparazzi won't let her in. So she'll be coming in a couple of minutes." James replied. I looked at him. He looked good. Obviously he did, but he looked better than the last time I saw him. Something different, but I couldn't put my finger on it. I felt like he was more reliable.
"Is her mother here?" A nurse asked, as she poked her head from the door.
"No, she'll be coming in some time. What is it?" David said, before I could say anything.
"We just want her mother to look at some of her test results." The nurse told him. Then she asked, "Are you her father?"
David gave me a quick glance and replied, "Yeah, I am."
To be honest, I would've loved to have David as my father. Excluding the fact that James would be his son. From what I know, David is a lot different from Diane. He isn't a gold digger like her. He doesn't believe that money can buy him anything. And I respect him for that.
He followed the nurse out of the room, leaving me and James alone.
"I hope you're feeling better." James told me, breaking the awkward silence. He placed his hand on mine.
"Yeah." I lifted my hand to my head and adjusted my hair. I looked away.
The next thing I knew, this guy was whispering something in my ear. Then all of a sudden the voice in my head started whispering something. I couldn't make out what either of them were trying to say.
I pushed James' face away and he stumbled back slightly and gradually the voice in my head also stopped speaking.
"What was that?" I asked James, incredulously.
He smirked and walked out of the room without giving me an answer.
I am now officially afraid and wary? What is going on?

"Young! Young! Are you okay? I told you not to do it!" Zara berated him as his vision became blurry. He couldn't do this anymore. He had used up all of his energy in contacting her. He knew this was risky, but he had to do it. He fell down on the cold hospital floor, trying not to loose consciousness.
"Young! Do you want water?" A panicked Zara asked him. He slightly nodded his head. She quickly handed him the water bottle. She offered to pour it into his mouth, but he refused.
"Did...He come... out?" Young asked his partner slowly. He breathed heavily.
"He just did." Zara informed. He saw a figure walk out of the hospital room Adriana was in. He figured it was James.
"Good. Now let's get going." Young said as he raised up with all the strength that was remaining within him
