All I could remember was that I saw Lightning. I saw Lightning and I saw the most amazing future where Snow finally came back. But that was it. It was like I fell asleep. My body fell, and the last thing I saw was Noel screaming my name...

When I woke up, I had no idea where I was. All I knew was that I no longer Mog or Noel with me.
"Hello?" I asked to nothingness. No one answered. "Where am I?" I asked again. This time something answered.
"You are in a void," said the voice. It was deep, but feminine.
"You mean, the Void Beyond?" I asked. The last time I was in the Void Beyond was when I saw Caius, and he sent me into that dream world with a fake Lightning. I had fought him, but without Noel, the battle was too strenuous, and he impaled me. Now that I recall that time, it seems that this realm isn't the same place.
"No. This realm is Limbo." Limbo? What did that mean? "You have fallen for your companions. You have brought a death upon yourself, and now you are stuck in this realm. The goddess has been slain, and you have nowhere to go."
"The goddess is dead?!" I shouted. "How can that be? I thought that if we defeated Caius, the paradox would end completely, and the goddess could live on."
The voice made a sound like a sigh. "Unfortunately, you are mistaken. When your companion, Noel Kreiss, took the life of Caius Ballad, he stopped the Heart of Chaos, the sustainment of the goddess' life. In exchange for Etro's life, Caius had to give up his to free the seeress Yeul from her curse, which was lain upon her when the goddess gave you the gift of freedom from the Fal Cie. Now that Noel has killed Caius, he has inherited his curse, but not his heart. He is the new immortal Guardian, but he has nothing to protect."
I felt weak at the knees. Etro is dead? I thought about Lightning. What was she in Valhalla again?...
"Can you tell me, um,-"
"Call me Watcher," the voice said.
"Alright, Watcher," I said. "What happened to my sister?"
