I'm sorry that I didn't upload last weekend. My dog passed away and I've just been struggling. I hope you all understand. Enjoy the chapter <3
Aiden was surprised that the car ride was so long. He had assumed that he was meeting Eden and Adelaide for breakfast in some fancy restaurant in Manhattan, but the car Eden sent for him ended up stopping abruptly outside a trendy downtown diner in Brooklyn. It was complete with a huge neon sign in the window that claimed it was open and served breakfast all day. Aiden felt weird stepping out of the town car, he was shocked that this was the restaurant of choice by the wife of a movie star and an international model.
Aiden took a few hesitant steps inside, past the double doors that chimed above him as he stepped past the threshold. He only had to take a few steps into the place to see that most of the people in the place were young couples. He took note of the three guys in the back all with bowties and man buns. He could have laughed. He wondered how on earth Adelaide was going to handle a place like this.
Aiden didn't have to wonder for very long, as he spotted Adelaide, Eden and Rosie sitting at a booth in the back. He was somewhat surprised to see Rosie had joined them. Rosie waved him over with a large smile that put the butterflies in Aiden's stomach at ease.
"Aiden!" Eden said when he was closer. "Come sit next to me."
"We are so glad you could make it," Adelaide commented.
Aiden was shocked. He sat down slowly, not taking his eyes off of Adelaide. She was dressed more casually than he ever thought she could be, in a loose floral blouse and dark pants. Her hair wasn't as puffy as usual, and her eyes were covered in dark sunglasses with reflective lenses. He could see himself when he looked at her.
"Who picked this place?" he asked.
Eden placed her hand on his arm. "This is my favourite breakfast spot. I've never seen a single paparazzi in this place."
Eden somehow looked more pregnant than she had been the night before. Her huge belly forced her to sit a little back from the side of the table. Aiden wondered if he and Oliver would be in this child's life. He tried not to think about it, it reminded him too much of how he missed his brothers.
"Plus, the food is amazing," Rosie said.
Aiden was happy to see Rosie there. Seeing her face had allowed him to relax a little. Rosie knew that he loved Oliver. Even if she had her doubts before, she didn't now. Rosie looked like a mix of the two, very conflicting, personalities she had presented with the day before. She wore a band shirt with a long black skirt. Her lips were bright pink, but there wasn't any other piece of make-up on her face. She seemed happy, with bright eyes and a calm demeanour.
"What do you recommend?" Aiden asked.
Rosie picked up a menu. She pointed to the pancakes. "These are incredible. They also do a mean omelette."
"Both sound good," he replied. He grabbed a menu himself and started reading the options.
Aiden saw something out of the corner of his eye. He turned his head to see that a waitress with a bright blue dress and white apron was standing next to their table. He had her notepad and pencil out. "What can I get you all?"
Once they all ordered, silence seemed to fall over the table. Aiden had worried about this. He had to physically stop himself from creating random small talk. He needed to calm his talkative side. He looked down at the menu still on the table and wondered if the waitress left them on purpose or forgot to take them.
