Chapter 7: Maria Antonia Josepha Joanna

A/N: I hope you like this next chapter. We finally meet Marie Antoinette! There is a small amount of French spoken towards the end. (I used google translate as I do NOT speak French.) All this is said is "Madam, a word if you please" and "Yes?." The rest of the conversation is in English because Marie Antoinette spoke a little bit of English, a small amount of Italian, German and French! Any way, I hope you like this next chapter!

Alex felt nauseous after the experience. It was not at all like he had expected. The movies always showed it as being fast, and not sickening. They were able to move instantly, but not him. He looked around for the rest of the group and not seeing them any where started to panic. Where am I? Was I the only one to time travel? Did they really not want to be my friend and sent me back here knowing I would not be able to get back? Alex shook his head. Of course they would not leave him. He was being stupid. He knew he was in a castle, but which one? Sighing he went off to look for them.

"Alex,isn't she beautiful?" Becca asked the person standing beside her.When he didn't answer she turned to him. Alex wasn't standing there,it was an older, important looking man. Concerned, she turned to the group. "Have any of you seen Alex since we traveled here?"

The reply was negative. They were sure they knew what had happened. With all the time traveling with more than the max number of people, he had disappeared.

Alex took another turn, discouraged. He had been here before! How did then nobles navigate the palace if there were so many turned that you could take to get back to the same place? Suddenly he heard girls voices. His heart lept, there were three of them! It must be Becca,Iris and Salali! He ran towards the door where they were coming from.BANG! The door hit the wall but it was not his friends standing before him. There were girls alright, standing in their undergarments, getting dressed. Embarrassed, he stammered his apologies. One of the ladies came up and slapped him. "Get out!" She yelled.

Alex didn't need to be told twice. He ran out as fast as he could. He would never, NEVER go into another door unless he knew exactly what was behind it. He slowed to a walk, listening. A short distance away,he heard cheering. He sped up. Maybe this was where Marie Antoinette's wedding would be. If that was the case, Iris and the others would certainly be there.

The wedding was over. As everyone started to file out, Becca saw what looked like Alex walking towards them! He called their names, it really was Alex! The group couldn't believe it! They had all successfully traveled back in time! Everyone was ecstatic, but none came close to what T was feeling. His time app had worked! Not only that, he had brought one extra person through safely!

They hurried along the many corridors and finally caught up with Maria Antonia Josepha Joanna. "Madam!" Salali called "Un mot s'il vous plaît?"

Becca looked at her amazed. "I didn't know you could speak French!"

"What did you expect? My whole family is French!"

Maria turned. "Oui?"

"In here." Iris motioned to the room they stood near. Iris felt bad for her. Here she was at fourteen years old, newly married and now these strangers were wanting to talk to her. Marie was clearly frightened."Maria Antonia Josepha Joanna, Dauphin of France, we are representatives from the commoners in the surrounding villages. The villages are very poor and are well, getting fed up with the monarch.Based on your wedding dress, which was extremely beautiful by the way, your tastes are expensive and if you spend more money on clothes, the people will revolt and you and everyone close will end up dying!Please, we are telling you this because you have great potential to be a great leader, if only you pay attention to the peasants a bit more." Iris tried to explain.

"What can I do? I have not power over the king."

"True,but as Dauphin you are able to talk to the king. He likes you so if you are able to explain to him the situation, maybe..." Becca trailed off.

"I will try but no promises, okay?"

  Iris, T, Becca, Salali and Alex silently walked out of the room.Inwardly they were all celebrating. She had agreed to try and help the peasants! It was a start, and if this kept up they would be able to stop the French Revolution from happening! The found an empty room, closed the door and headed to their next time destination.
