I couldn't wait until this hour was over. I did everything my boss told me to do. I washed the dishes, cleaned everything I could think of so he would let me leave on time. It was getting closer to nine and my heart was beating so fast. I felt my phone vibrate and I was so excited and shocked to see that it was Keith making sure I was still coming. That was my cue for me to leave.
"Okay Mr Jefferson I'm about to go I'll see you on Monday" I told him
"Actually I need you to work tomorrow I know you have the weekends off but I'm a little short" Mr. J said.
" I'm sorry I can't work tomorrow I have pervious plans my friends and I are going to a Ro James concert" I told him.
"Either you come or you're fired its that simple" he said
"Come on Mr.J that's not fair" I said.
" well look you got your options take it or leave it" he said
I was so pissed off I stormed off and got into my car. I was debating on still going to Keith's house or going home. I had to call Eboney to get some big sister advice. As always it took her forever to answer but I was so happy when she did.
"Girl girl girl you missed some much I did a delivery to Keith freaking Powers! He was so nice then he was fresh out the shower dripping wet my thoughts were all over the place he invited me over for dinner but Mr.Jerfferson just ruined my whole mood so I don't know if I'm going to go" I said
"Whoa whoa you better not let that boss of yours miss your chance on happiness! If you don't go to Keith's house I'm going to fight you myself. Be smart now friend don't be stupid. What did Mr. J do anyways" She said
"He's making to choose out of my job or Ro James... Friend that's a hard bargain I love Ro James but that jobs pays my bills" I told her.
"You know what I think you should get Keith's opinion when you go over there cause I think you should have been quit that stupid job but look go see Keith now! I have to get back to these patients up here be careful love you lots" she said.
"Love you more Ill text you when I get to Keith's house" I told her hanging up.
I pulled up to Keith's house 20 minutes later. I could smell the food soon as I entered his hallways. I knocked on the door and he opened it. He looked so good standing there with a muscle shirt and some basketball shorts.
"Hey beautiful come in" he said
I walked in and looked around his apartment was so nice. I could tell he tried to make it somewhat romantic because he had music playing and candles lit.
"This is a cute little set up you have here" I told him.
" I guess I'm just trying to impress you" he said.
"Impress me? I need to be trying to impress you." I said
"You already did when you knocked on my door earlier" he said
I couldn't help but to smile he was so sweet and had a way with words everything he said was so beautiful to me. I was there with him but my mind was somewhere else. I couldn't stop thinking about me possibly not having a job. I guess Keith could tell something was wrong with me because I could see him staring at me.
"Are you okay? You seemed so happier earlier. What happened which you went back to work?" He said
" my stupid boss is trying to make me working tomorrow knowing I'm off on weekends. I've been have some Ro James tickets for the longest. Me and my friends were so happy but now I might not be able to go because he said its either the concert or my job" I told him.
" oh I think you should come to the concert. Ro is my boy." He said
" and what about my job if I go to the concert my job is gone" I told him
"Well I told you that you are much too beautiful for that job. We'll find you another one. So might has well just call that rude little boss and tell him you quit" Keith said handing me the phone
I took the phone and dialed Mr.Jefferson number. It rang a couple of times before he answered.
"Hello". He said.
" hey Mr. Jefferson this is AJ I'm calling you to let you know I quit and thank you for everything" I told him.
"well I miss you the best Ms.Jackson" he said hanging up
After he hung up the phone Keith laughed at me.
" what's so funny" I asked him
" you! You look like you worried. Just know I wouldn't have suggested you quit your job if I didn't already have a plan. You're were too beautiful to be a delivery girl so as of now I got you" he said.
" oh you got me? How you got me and you just met me?" I asked him.
" sometimes you just know when someone's going to be around for a while and I have this feeling that you going to be here for a while" he said walking into the kitchen.
I didn't really know what he meant by that,but I sure hope whatever it was that he meant it.
