It was a stormy night, in the city of London. Big Ben's clock hands spun rapidly in the howling wind. Carriages rushed through the streets, trying to get to their destinations as quickly as possible. Their horses sputtered and whinnied as the rain pelted their coats.
Their drivers flicked their whips, forcing the horse to run faster. They turned a sharp corner but the horse tangled its legs and fell to the ground. The carriage flipped over sending the driver to the pavement. The contents of the carriage, apples and other fruits, rolled along the streets. The horse stood back up and took off; the straps still in tact; along with the carriage.
All through the chaos outside, a young girl, one with blonde locks, sat upon her bed. A single lamp was lighting the room with a warm glow.
A stunning shock of thunder rolled over the sky and city. The girl jumped under her blankets, terrified.
"Mommy!!" she exclaimed.
A woman with matching blonde locks stepped into the room. "It's only a storm, sweetie, it'll pass," she told her daughter, pulling the girl out from under the covers.
"It's evil and scary!" the daughter cried.
The mother smiled at her daughter and started to stroke the girl's blonde curls. "Would you like to know the story behind the rain and sun?" the mother asked. The daughter's baby-blue eyes sparkled. "Tell me the story!" she smiled.
"Alright, well, of course it begins with the sun. The sun was something so beautiful, shining gold and sparkling in the horizon, but there was one who despised the sun. They wished it to be gone from the sky, so night could fall upon them. This, was the ruler of darkness. Now, the ruler of night wasn't evil, but he didn't like being kept in the light all this time. The ruler of light was caring though, and she gladly compromised with the ruler of night. So from now on, they share the day. The ruler of light takes the first half, which is day; and ruler of night takes the other half, which is night. This went on for 30 days, and everyone was happy, except for the ruler of night's apprentice, Ryjira. Ryjira was jealous of not being in the spotlight. So, he stole the ruler of night's scepter and attempted to take over the night and day, but he failed. Instead, a horrible storm was created. Terrible winds tore down buildings, and ripped across the towns. People evacuated the poor town, but they were almost thrown by the winds. Then the rain started. It drenched the town. Roofs began to cave in due to the wood rotting and molding. The town was in shambles."
"What about the rest of the world, mommy?" the young girl asked, now sitting in her mother's lap.
"Only one town was affected; and that was our very town, London. The rulers of night and light fought very hard against Ryjira, but were unable to break his defenses. They had almost lost all hope, but they realized they had one option left."
"What was that, mommy?" the daughter asked, full attention into the story.
"Wizards. There were seven wizards in existence. One in the very town. They were all split up, of course, but the two rulers called them together, and they banded Aperitus; a group of unique magic wielders. The wizards charged out to defeat Ryjira, and return the scepter."
"Did the wizards beat him?" the girl asked.
"No one knows for sure, for the rain slowed down and the sun would sometimes shine again, but the storm never officially left. Ryjira could still be at large, but do not worry, there are wizards among us."
"Is that the end of the story?" the daughter asked, looking into her mothers eyes.
"It is for now. Good night, Elizabeth," she told her daughter and turned out the lamp. The mother exited the room and left little Elizabeth to ponder the story.
"There are wizards among us," she yawned, and fell asleep.
And the prophecy was set in stone.
