Chapter 2

"Hello. May I sit here?" A boy with long black hair and stormy gray eyes opened the compartment door.

"Sure!" Haley responded, curious to find out who hid behind the eyes. Haley could already sense that the boy with black hair was hiding behind a wall, and she wanted to help him around it.

"Thanks. I'm Sirius. Sirius Black. Hi." The boy said.

"I'm Haley Thrums, that's Remus Lupin and James Potter. Hi." Haley announced, pointing to each boy in turn.

"Hi," James chimed in. Remus hadn't even looked up from his book. Sirius entered the compartment and sat next to me, across from James.

"Hang on, did you say you were Haley Thrums?" As in, the daughter of the co-owner of Zonko's?" Sirius questioned. Haley nodded, not liking all the attention that was on her, as all three boys were giving her their undivided attention.

"Wicked!" James exclaimed.

"Cool," Remus said, looking back at his book.

"Wow! Do you like pranking?" Sirius asked.

"Nooo," Haley said sarcastically.

"Has your mom pranked you? What about your dad, what does he do?" James asked.

"Yes, and I would rather not talk about my father," Haley said, spitting out the word father like it was a curse.

"O...kay," James scooted away from her playfully.

"I bet he's not worse than my dad," Sirius challenged.

"No? Try me. Later though, because I've had enough talk of him today."

"Ow," Haley said, as she had just knocked into a girl.

"I'm sorry," the girl said. She had brilliant red hair and bright green eyes.

"It's my fault. I'm just a tad bit clumsy."

"So am I. I'm Lily," she said, sticking out her hand, which Haley gladly shook.

"Haley. By the way, do you mind if I sit with you?" Haley asked Lily.

"No, not at all."

Not too long after, the two girls were reaching a very loud compartment. Laughs and screaming were able to be heard from far away.

"They're very loud." Lily noted.

"Really? I couldn't tell," Haley replied, almost tasting the sarcasm.

Soon they were inside the compartment and were all laughing together.

Haley met one girl named Arina who was Greek and used to live year round at a summer camp called Camp Half-Blood. She didn't explain much, but she did say they learned self defense. Arina was thirteen, and was a Gryffindor. She usually stayed out of trouble, although she would follow along if someone offered her an adventure. Arina had light brown hair and green eyes, a combination that looked absolutely gorgeous.

The other person in the compartment was a first year boy named Ryan, with windswept black hair and bright blue eyes. Ryan was a class clown, always telling jokes and talking back. While he didn't get in trouble for that, he always considered himself a troublemaker.

Haley learned that Lily had no tolerance for trouble and loved learning. Lily and Haley seemed to be polar opposites, as one had never even gotten yelled at and the other literally grew up in a prank store.

Soon the conversation turned to the houses. "What house do you guys think you're going to be in?" Arina asked them.

"I'm not sure," Haley started. "But probably Gryffindor or Hufflepuff. Definitely not Ravenclaw. Possibly Slytherin."

"I think I'm a Ravenclaw. I did a little bit of research on it, and because I looked it up, I'm probably in Ravenclaw or Slytherin," Lily said, smiling because she knew she had confused them.

Arina laughed and shook her head. "Gryffindors for the win! Plus Lily, you'd never be a Slytherin. You're a mud- I mean- muggleborn. Me, I'm a pureblood, but definitely a Gryffindor."

"I'm a what? You started to say something. What was it?" Lily asked.

Haley narrowed her eyes at Arina, knowing exactly what she was about to say. "Yeah Arina, what were you about to say? I'll tell you what. It started with mud and ended with blood! Lily, she just called you lower than dirt." Haley explained.

"Arina!" Suddenly Ryan piped up. "How could you?"

"I was raised that way! As you can see, I corrected myself. I'm trying to not use that word anymore, but it's a habit," Arina said, her face apologetic.

Ryan started to say something but was cut off by a scream.
