After Potions, the group hurried to the class Elanor knew she'd most like. Defense Against the Dark Arts. This was the class taught by Amanda Fletcher, the 'weirdo reading at breakfast'. Lee had guessed Ravenclaw; Fred Slytherin; George Hufflepuff; and Elanor had decided Gryffindor for no other reason than it was the only house left. As soon as he sat down, Fred blurted out,

"Miss Fletcher, what house were you in?"

She smiled. "I want all you to call me Mandie. I was in Gryffindor, Mr..."

"Weasley. I'm George, he's-"

Elanor yelled, "No, miss, that's Fred, that's George."

"Naturally. I had a twin sister. Mr. Weasley, are you missing anything?" Mandie grinned.

Elanor and Lee snickered. The twins had changed into normal clothes, saying that Charlie had said she was a nice professor.

"No ma'am, I don't believe we are, Freddie?"

"We're perfectly normal, Georgie!"

"Normal," Elanor muttered. "Sure..."

"Fred and George Weasley, I will excuse your lack of proper uniform just this once, and purely so that you do not waste any more of my class time. Be warned, I shall go to Minerva if I must."

"Yes ma'am," the twins muttered sullenly.

"I said call me Mandie, did I not?"

"Yes, Ms. Mandie."

"Oh, for crying out loud! Please just call me Mandie!"

"Haha, told you!" Elanor giggled, as the four trotted out of the DADA room.

"Told us what?" the twins asked in unison. It was kind of creeoy when they did that.

"She's a Gryffindor!"

"But Gryffindors don't read for fun!" Fred shot back.

"Neither do Slytherins," responded Lee.

"Neither do... oh, never mind. Hufflepuffs don't, do they?" Fred asked, rounding on his brother.

"Who knows?"

Elanor rolled her eyes. "Oh yeah, FYI, Freddie, Izzy, 'Livy and I all read in any spare time we get. Of course, Lee and I are outside a lot but Izzy was reading all her life until she got a boyfriend―" Elanor made a face "―and a job. But Olivia still reads quite a bit. It's a wonder she wasn't placed in Ravenclaw."

"What house are your parents in?"

"Both Ravenclaws," Elanor responded, with Lee chiming in, "But obviously all their kids are really brave and stupid―Hey!"

Elanor smacked his head with a roll of parchment. "I know more than you do because I read, so there."

"Ow..." Lee whined, rubbing his head, "That hurt..."

"I'm not stupid! If anyone if, you are, for annoying me twice today."

"I'll admit the first time was stupid, but..." Elanor shot him a glare, "...and the second one was, too," he concluded with a sigh.

"Now that that matter's taken care of, on to Trans Fig!" The twins scampered off down the hall.

"What was that you said about weird friends?"

"Good afternoon, class. I am Professor McGonagall. In these classes, you will learn how to turn objects and animals into other objects and animals. Yes?" the woman paused, gesturing to Aaron Finnagin.

"When do I learn how to turn me brother into a pig?"

The twins snorted.

"With Ickle Ronnikins..."

"You don't even need to use magic."

"Detention Weasley, Weasley. Mr. Finnagin, I'm afriad you won't start human Transfiguration for a few years. Detention, Jordan. It is rude to laugh at others' misfortune."

McGonagall, or Minnie, as Elizabeth has jokingly nicknamed her, then had a young girl named Ariana Ellsworth pass out matches to everyone.

As Minnie explained how to successfully turn it into a needle, Aaron was examining his, and accidentaly struck it. Immediately, his desk caught fire. Without even turning her head, Professor Minnie flicked her wand and dumped water all over him and the desk. The water fixed the desk, and disappeared, leaving Aaron completely dry.

Elanor and a few other students laughed quietly.

"Detention, Smith, Taylor, Brown. You and the Weasley boys and Jordan will be joining Mr. Filch tonight at eight."

That night at eight, only Elanor, Lee, and the twins showed up. The rest had skipped.

"I told you we should've skipped," the twins hissed annoyedly.

Before Elanor could defend herself, the caretaker, Argus Filch, appeared. "Double for you, then, boys," he smirked cruelly.

The work wasn't too bad, Elanor reflected as she continued cheerfully humming and sorting through old student files.

After an hour, Filch stood. "You two, go, you two, stay."

No matter how much the twins protested, they were still stuck. And eventually, they were grateful for it.
