"Viktor! Don't you dare fall asleep, I'm not finished with you yet!" The words faded through the darkness as Viktor awoke in a cold sweat. Staring up at the moonlit ceiling, he felt a weight against his chest that made him quickly look down only to find his sleeping beauty, Yuri. 'It was just a dream...' He reminded himself as he laid his head back against the pillow, taking in a shaky breath. 'Out of all times, why now?' Questions kept swimming through his mind with no answer in sight. A gentle movement brought his attention back to Yuri who was rubbing his face.

"Viktor? Are you okay?" He asked tiredly making Viktor smile softly toward his husband where he placed a gentle kiss on the top of his head as his hand gently rubbed his back.

"Everything is fine moya lyubov." He said quietly trying his best to sound like his normal self in order not to worry his lover which he knew he could only avoid for so long. Yuri always had an ability to know when something was wrong even when it wasn't spoken aloud. Suddenly, a gentle hand was placed against his chest which made Viktor realize his heart was beating rapidly. He placed his hand over Yuri's trying to make himself calm down. "Every time I think about you, my heart can't help but have a mind of its own." He whispered as his hand went up from Yuri's back to the side of his head as he laced his fingers into his hair. After a couple of minutes of silence, Viktor knew Yuri had fallen back asleep allowing him to sigh with relief. 'He can't know. Anyone but Yuri...' As those final thoughts passed through his mind, he slowly fell into a light sleep.

Morning came sooner than expected for the older male. More tired that when he fell asleep, he sat up on the bed letting his legs dangle off the edge. He stretched his arms up over his head trying to get his body to relax from the, what feels like, sleepless night. As his arms fell back to his side, he smiled as Yuri wrapped his arms around his shoulders and kissed his cheek. As his lover spoke to him, he rested his own hand against Yuri's arm which he kissed. "Are you sure you're okay?" He asked gently to Viktor, his eyes filled with worry for the taller male.

"Had a rough night is all." He turned his head to look into Yuri's eyes, but Yuri wasn't convinced. "I'll go make breakfast, you get a shower and come downstairs." He kissed Yuri softly before standing up and heading downstairs into the kitchen. Once downstairs, he stood in the hallway with his hands in his pockets as listened for the water starting for the shower. Viktor leaned against the wall on his arm trying to calm himself down... the dream, the memory... was basically giving him a panic attack. 'Get ahold of yourself Viktor. You're life is great now... a place to call home, a husband who loves you dearly. Plus, it was many years ago, they could have possibly forgotten by now.' He reassured himself before proceeding into the kitchen.

"Viktor?" As Viktor was pulling out eggs from the fridge he could hear the worried tone in his lovers voice. Standing at the entrance to the kitchen, Yuri was only in his boxers with his arms crossed over his chest. He couldn't help but smile at his lover who he adored with every fiber of his being.

"You're going to freeze if you stand there like that Yuri." He said walking over to him to rub up and down his arms to help warm him up.

"Viktor, you're acting strange." He blurted out before his eyes opened widely. He covered his mouth with his hands noticing Viktor's surprised expression. "I... I'm sorry. I don't know-" Viktor wrapped his arms around Yuri trying his best not to let his emotions out.

"Don't be sorry... I know I'm acting weird, I'm sorry. Maybe once we start practice today I'll go back to my usual self." He placed his forehead against Yuri's as he looked into his eyes. "Okay?" Yuri was hesitate at first but nodded anyways.

"You... you would tell me if something was wrong... wouldn't you Viktor?" Yuri asked as he placed his shaking hands onto Viktor's shoulders.

"Yes..." He said softly not wanting to lie to the male, but he didn't want to know about... his real reason for quitting figure skating. "Come on, lets eat and head to the ring." He kissed his lovers head as he lead him toward the dining room table before cooking the eggs.
