Hi Everyone! this is just something that I have been working on for a while, I hope you enjoy it!

It was a mildly cold day in Rhode Island. Colder than it was back in New York at this time. "C'mon let's go."

"I think I'm staying here for now." I said.

"Andy, you're gonna be late for class." Today I just didn't feel like it. I sat on the couch still in my pajamas, still watching the TV. Naomi stood in the threshold of my room and just stared at me.

"I'm gonna cut today, tell prof I'm sick."

"Andrew this isn't like you. Are you actually sick?" She said walking in and sitting next to me.

"I don't know." She pressed the back of her hand on my forehead and sighed.

"You're not sick. It's just a literature class. You can sit in the back and doodle in your book."

"Naomi you are going to be late if you don't just leave me here. I will see you later." I said as I stood and shuffled her out of the door. She tried to protest but before she could I had shut the door and locked it behind her. She was right, I wasn't sick. I just wasn't feeling it, it was just one of those days. I walked back to the couch and laid down on the couch and kicked my feet up on the rest, turning the volume up on the TV. I would go to my next class but I needed this hour this morning.

An hour later I was walking to my second class it was even colder outside than it was in my dorm room. I pulled my jacket closer around me and shifted my shoulder to get a better grip on my backpack. My second class of the day was a boring lecture class with way to many people in it for the professor to realize I didn't pay attention for a second. As I walked out of my 2nd and last class of the day I felt, content, and yet completely unsatisfied with my day so far.

"Andrew!" I turned around and say Naomi again. Smiling like she always did, it was cute but also annoying. I had known Naomi since orientation freshman year and I had always had a little crush on her. But she was my closest and oldest friend. "So I see you went to your other class today." She said easily falling in step with me.

"I did indeed." I responded, throwing my arm over her shoulders and picking up my pace a little. "So what are we doing tonight?"

"Oh you know, Party, drinking, boys." She said. "I mean that was my plan, I'm sure we could throw some girls into the equation." She giggled a little.

"Sounds like a plan to me."

That afternoon as I watched TV in my room just as I had that morning, I thought about going to this party. I hated parties. I really did. It may have been my least favorite thing about college, but it was what you did when you were a 19 year old single guy. You went to parties every night in hopes of finding that 19 year old single girl who was just as lonely as you. So I went to these parties day after day and I looked quite often for someone, anyone to spend some time with. I knew then that tonight I was going to drink a lot.

I woke up the next day to a bright room, Naomi sitting over me. "Hey." She said, sounding surprised. My first thought was asking myself if I had slept with Naomi.

"Hey." I said softly. "How much did I drink last night?" I tried to push myself up but it felt like there was this big weight on my chest.

Her face looked sad, like I had said something so shocking. "Andy do you not remember what happened?" I shook my head. "...you had a heart attack...b-before we even got to the party."
