You know when you're playing with your friends or with one of your parents, you crawl under the blanket to hide and they begin piling everything on you, from more blankets to pillows to even objects?

That's how pressured it felt. I felt like I had a ton of weight on me but when I opened my eyes getting used to the bright lights, I saw nothing but wires and a thin blue blanket over me.

"Hey, any news?" My ears perked up at the voice outside the open door, wanting to see Egypt.

"Nothing yet, Mrs. Álvares hasn't left the room until 10 minutes ago when she said she'd get coffee for us."

I opened my mouth, wanting to call out to my friend's but ended up gasping quietly in pain that shot on my side when I breathed.

"Excuse me, ladies,"

I looked at the door again, the voice sounding familiar. Whoever that was, he was the one who told me to stay with them.

"I heard a couple nurses talking about him, he's quite the hot topic," Egypt spoke, the two of them walking into my room but never once looking at me.

"I wonder why" Sana rolled her eyes with a smile. Egypt laughed and softly hit her arm, the two sharing quiet laughs.

When they finally looked at me, their surprised faces turned into concern as they rushed over, dropping their bags and crowding around me.

"Are you okay? Do you want me to call a doctor?" Sana looked at me, looking at the monitor, checking me.

"I'll call her mom," Egypt exclaimed, standing up straight.

"I'll go with you," Sana nodded, pressing the yellow button to call a nurse. She went to follow Egypt, kicking the bags out of the way on her way out.

I squirmed, wincing with every breath I took before I heard footsteps rushing in, nearing me as a warm hand rested on my chest, putting slight pressure. My eyes snapped open to see the profile of a man looking at the monitor.

His jawline was sharp and littered with a bit of stubble. His brown eyes that strangely were a couple shades away from being black stared at the monitor, his eyes scanning it before looking down at me, his face twisted with concern.

"Do you feel alright?" His deep voice asked.

Oh my god, was he Australian?

I opened my mouth, wincing again with the smaller breath of air I took, I felt his hand leave me as he pressed a button next to my bed. I heard the voices of my mom, Egypt, and Sana.

"Is she awake?" My mom asked.

"Yes she is but she's in pain because of the bruise on her side, give her a few minutes." Deep Voice told my mom, immediately telling what I assumed was a nurse to bring in the medication.

I felt a cold hand on mine, knowing right away my mom was next to me. "Everything is going to be okay, they're bringing in the pain medication, it'll go away, I promise."

I felt tears pool before they began spilling, coming harder as the pain grew with every breath I took. I tried to stop crying, knowing that was the cause of the strong pain, but I couldn't, the pain was hitting harder until a nurse rushed in, injecting something in my arm.

I relaxed with the crying knowing the pain would go away soon occasionally hiccuping because of it.

"You'll feel better in no time, just relax." I looked up at the doctor who was pocketing his hands in his white coat, smiling at me then looking at my mom. "Call me if anything, later in, a few nurses will keep tabs on her."
