"Come on now, stop your crying," Mum cooes " he wouldn't want you to". I sniffle because I know it's true, I hear my phone start to ring so I squeeze my mum one last time then go to answer it while mum walks out of my room.
"Hey Lucieeee," I instantly recognize this voice as my best friends.
"Hey Alexis , what do you want?," I say back, in the most happy voice I can manage. I know she would see right through it but I had to try.
"Lucie! What's wrong?," Her voice drips with worry. Alexis was in the car too, what car you ask? The one that stole his life, he wasn't just anyone. He was my best friend, my brother, my twin, Cameron James Dickens.
I still remember the night I lost him, Mum lost him, we all lost him. It was a warm summer night, just like they usually are, we were driving down Green lagoon Highway. He was driving with his hair flowing in the breeze. I was sitting next to him with a bottle of booze without a care, Matt and Alexis in the back taking swigs out of a tequila bottle.
Cameron turned to smile at me and just as he opened his mouth to speak, we all heard the warning horn of a incoming truck. Cameron turned the wheel fast enough to make sure it was only him that got hit. His sacrifice saved not one, not two but three lives that night, it makes me wonder sometimes that if he didn't do that forfeit who would have departed that night.
Matt is the most low-spirited of us though, he was meant to be driving that crucial night but my noble brother offered to. You see ever since we were young, dear Matthew had a crush on Alexis and that night he was wanted to make a move on her, Cameron knew this and offered to drive.
My brother was no saint, he had done some grim things in his life, but all the good things he's done has out weighed that. That's why his death shook so many but especially me.
"I...I wa... I was just thinking about him," the tears where beginning to fall again as I strive to get that sentence out.
"Oh Luc don't cry I'll be over asap, ok?" Alexis' voice was so motherly and caring it would be surprising she isn't one if we weren't in High School.
I sniffle and reply "Ok see you then". Then we hang up and it becomes a waiting game for her car to show up in my driveway.
See I told you the chapters would be longer, but they will be getting even longer. Sorry for the wait I had some school stuff happening I'll try for this not to happen again, and a certain Mr Lawley will be making an appearance in the next chapter. Also one last thing, I might be writing a new book for all my riverdale fans. That's all for now and remember stay insane.
