I awoke with a start, beads of sweat covered my skin and dampened my hair. Its just a dream I repeated in my head a few times before sitting up. I had dreamt I was a witch and I was fighting my master and the group but the thing which scared me was that I was enjoying it.

I had another shower and then got myself dressed for the day. I glanced at the digital clock by my bed before I left my room. It was already eleven I needed to see my master before are meeting this afternoon but I also needed to get something to eat. My stomach growled as though in agreement so I made my way down to the kitchen.
I could hear Jane humming before I even made it through the door. As well as Frank we had Jane who cooked all our meals. Frank and Jane weren't hunters but they were close to my master and were the only family I had ever known. Jane was a grandmotherly figure she was a happy little woman with a big heart and a passion for food. When I was little she would let me be her taste tester and I would get to sample all the sweet treats she baked before anyone else.
"Trixie," she beamed as I sat at the table. "You've missed breakfast my dear and lunch is still a couple of hours away but let me fix you something."
"Thanks Jane." I smiled appreciatively I really was hungry. "Is everyone else up?" I asked.
"Yes, although everyone was a little late. I was expecting it though as it was all your first hunts last night. How did it go?" She beamed as she put bacon into the frying pan.
"Didn't anyone tell you? We didn't go on our hunts last night because our master was injured." I informed her.
She spun around her hand clutching at her chest, "Where is he?" she whispered her eyes round in fear.
"He is here and well." My master chuckled coming into the kitchen.
"Oh Drake," She flapped going over to him and inspecting his face and neck before pulling him into a hug. Jane had always treated everyone like her children my master included. He rolled his eyes at me over her shoulder but let her hug and fuss over him.
"Is that bacon and eggs I can smell?" He smiled, easily distracting her as she pulled away and went back to the hob. My master sat opposite me and relaxed back in his chair looking remarkably better than he had last night.
"So is anyone going to tell me what happened last night?" Jane asked as she prepared our breakfasts.
"Nothing really..." He started but stopped when Jane turned around and fixed him with her 'don't lie to me' face.
"Well I did run into a bit of trouble but Trix saved me." he beamed. I could see what he was doing, he was putting the focus onto me so I scowled at him as Jane came over to make sure I was alright. "Oh Trixie dear are you ok? How did you save him?"
I fixed my face into a sweet smile, "Just in the right place at the right time I suppose." I shrugged hoping she'd think it was no big deal. I didn't really want to have this conversation with Jane I needed to speak it through with my master first so we could decide what we were going to tell everyone. I didn't want everyone knowing the whole truth.
Jane gave me a searching look knowing I was keeping secrets but thankfully letting the subject drop as she went back to plate up our meals. She brought us our bacon and eggs and I devoured every last piece, even contemplating licking the plate when my master chuckled. I looked up and met his gaze,
"Come on then Trix leave the plate, we need to talk. Don't worry lunch will be ready soon." He smiled.

I stood and thanked Jane before following him out of the kitchen and to his study, he stood at the door letting me through before closing it and sitting behind his desk.
"Ok so I need to assess the damage done last night and think of a way in which I can rectify it." He began.
"Excuse me? What damage?" I asked not understanding, I thought we were going to talk about the subject of my parentage.
"Well you not only killed Gianna last night but also Mari. I need to find out the facts before meeting with them and seeing how we can smooth over the situation. You see my agreement was with Mari but because she lived with her sisters it extended to them, I just hope I can strike up a similar agreement with Marcia." He said absently scratching his shaven head as he rummaged through the desk drawers finding a notebook and pen.
"Why would you want a similar agreement? A better idea would be to go there tonight and kill the rest of them." I said
"Just tell me what happened yesterday from the beginning." he said ignoring my comment and posing his pen over the paper.
I sighed before dropping into the seat opposite him. I told him about the assignment, about not being sure what evidence to bring him. He smiled at this, "Was it just a feeling you had in your gut?" He asked and I nodded. He wrote something down.
I continued, telling him about seeing Mari and running out of the house. I told him about my concern that he was late and that I went in search of him and then seeing Mari again. I told him what she had told me about witch hunters hunting us hunters, he wrote more.
"Did you know they had hunters to hunt us?" I asked.
"No I had heard rumours about powerful witches who didn't need a coven to perform spells and whom spent their lives hunting us hunters down to save witches. But I had never encountered one before."
"Until last night." I said.
He frowned, "Who Gianna?"
"Mari said she was a witch hunter." I shrugged.
"Well I suppose she might of been. When she attacked I felt heavy and couldn't move, it might have been a spell. She did say..." He went quiet lost in thought.
"Say what?" I asked curious.
"Oh just that it was a long time coming and that with me gone she could finally be who she was meant to be."
"Which is what? A hunter?" I asked confused.
"Maybe." He shrugged. "So I take it you followed Mari to the shop?"
I nodded, "She said you were in danger and she could track you, I didn't want to kill her and then not be able to find you in time." He nodded and wrote in the book again. I leaned forward to try and read what he was writing but his hand obscured his writing.
"After leaving the shop Mari left to find you, tell me what happened." He sat back in his chair studying me.
Did he know about my powers? Maybe he had them too and was just waiting for me to confirm. I licked my lips trying to think about what actually happened.
"She arrived and I was so angry." I whispered my voice dry with nerves. "She wanted me to live with her and become a witch, telling me that she had left me because she wanted me to be strong like you. She said you were the best because of the struggles you went through in life and she wanted me to be the same." I stopped and looked down at my trembling hands. I could feel my magic pooling into my fingers again as the disgust at what she did to me emerged again. I clenched my hands into tight fists. She was gone now I just needed to erase her from my memory and then I could go back to being me.
"How did you kill her Trix?" He whispered. I hadn't noticed but he was leaning across the table with his hand outstretched towards me.
"I just felt angry and there was a build up inside me, I could see she just wanted to use me and that I had to stop her I don't know how but..." There was a loud bang on the study door and I leapt back in my seat as the door swung open.
Ash, one of the eldest boys in our group stood in the door way with his hunters clothes on and a smile on his face, "Are you ready to go hunting?" He beamed pushing his long ash blonde hair out of his eyes just for it to immediately swing back down to his jawline.
Our master sat back heavily into his own chair and looked at his watch.
"Yes Ash, get everyone else ready to recall their findings from yesterday." He said dismissing him but Ash stood there, "They're already there and waiting for you." he said with barely concealed excitement. I stood knowing that we wouldn't get to finish talking anytime soon and saw Lucy standing just behind Ash her eyes boring into me. She was dressed in her hunting clothes again and I looked down at what I was wearing, I needed to change.
"I'll meet you all down there." I said leaving the study and ignoring Lucy as I went back up to my room to get ready.
