On Aurora's 16th birthday the fairies sent her out to fetch some berries. They didn't really need berries, for she had gathered some yesterday, but they wanted her out so they could work on her gifts.
Aurora went to the same berry picking spot as always, near the river. Of course when she saw her animal friends she began to sing. Cinderella also happened to be in those woods, and when she heard Aurora's sweet voice she had to go see what the glorious noise was.
Cinderella stealthfully made her way across the river, and saw a beautiful girl dancing with her animal friends. As she got closer, she could hear that Aurora was singing 'Once Upon a Dream'. Cinderella then jumped in and started singing and dancing with Aurora.
"Ahh!" Aurora yelled, clearly startled by the presence of a stranger.
"I'm terribly sorry, I never meant to startle you." Cinderella said, her voice as sweet as honey.
"It's ok, what was that song you started singing right before I got scared?" Aurora asked inquisitively.
"That song is one I often sing when I feel there's no hope. It's called 'A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes'." Cinderella answered.
"Why would a beautiful girl such as yourself feel there's no hope?" Aurora asked, obviously confused.
"My parents passed away and I have only my evil stepmother and stepsisters to keep me company. Except, they treat me more like a servant than company." Cinderella explained, starting to tear up.
"It's ok, it will all work out in the end." Aurora said reassuringly, and began to hold her. "I've never met my parents, I live with my three aunts." She explained.
"Three aunts? Isn't that kind of a lot?" Cinderella asked, a tad curious.
"Well I suppose it is, but they are a fine bunch to live with." Aurora elaborated.
"That makes sense. A different aunt with different house duties will certainly get things done quicker than one duty at a time. I wish my stepsisters would realise that and help me with the chores." Cinderella said, sitting up and crossing her arms.
"Haha," Aurora couldn't help but laugh. "you are cute when you're pouting."
"Am not! I'm not pouting I'm just... stretching my lip." Cinderella argued.
"Yeah, okay. Then I'm sure a tickle won't phase you." Aurora said while beginning to tickle Cinderella's sides.
Cinderella laughed, yelling "Ok! Ok! You got me!" Then Aurora looked at the time. She knew that her aunts would notice it shouldn't take this long to gather some berries.
"You are a terribly interesting and beautiful girl, and I enjoy talking with you very much. I have to go, but I shall see you again." Aurora said before parting with Cinderella.
