Dear the thoughts in my head,
Once upon a time I thought you were a myth
I thought that monsters under my bed were just a lie
I thought mommy and daddy would protect me and band-aids could fix any boo-boo
I thought you were just in the stories of the Bible
"People don't actually kill themselves" I thought
Until the day I saw a pack of pills and thought how many it would take to kill me
I thought demons were just in fables and stories
Until one told me to get the razors from the bathroom
Why are you real?
Why can't you just me make believe?
Why do you cheer on
suicide
and rape
and eating disorders
and self harm
and bullies
and 2 a.m. late night poems?Sincerely, the person you love to hate
