On Land (Pt.4)

Great, (y/n) had one job, all she had to do was safe him, how'd she manage to lose her ring? Now she can't go back into the ocean and was left on land with only a dress so she wouldn't be exposed.
Luckily, her friends who have been on land before gave her tips. They told her she can cry and collect the pearls of her tears, and sell them for lots of money. So that's what she did. She cried because she was dumb enough to lose the ring.
Why was the ring so important you ask? It's because a mermaid can't get her tails back without it. That's why the moment (Y/n) went back into the water, her tail turned into legs.
After (Y/n) thought she had enough pearls, she went into a little hut near the beach.
"Excuse me, do you know any jewelry shops near by?" She asked in English.
"Yes but it's in town." Said the man who was in the hut with a slight accent.
"How do I get there?" She asked. The man gave her a confused look.
"You don't know how to get to town?" He asked. She was a little flustered with his question, she couldn't tell him she's a mermaid. Suddenly the man's eyes widened.
"Are you also a..." he begun. She started to run away, but she realized he said "also"
She turned her head because the man was near behind her.
"Don't be scared, I'm a mermaid too, I've been living here for long." He said. She smiled at him, the man was pretty old.
"I came here because I lost my ring." She said.
"To the man who you saved from drowning." He said. (Y/n)'s eyes widened.
"What? How'd you know that?"
"I saw him, with the ring." He replied.
"Oh no! He's Korean, he probably went back." She said.
"He did, let me give you a word of advice, I don't think you'll be going back into the ocean my dear. He's gone to Seoul which is a huge city. Not only that I heard he's famous. It's unlikely for you to ever find him." He said. She was astonished by everything.
"Then what do I do?"
"Settle down here, you can cry and buy a house, and everything you need." He said.
"But I love the ocean!" She replied. She took a seat on the ground, and the man sat beside her.
"If you do, you can always take a chance and go to Seoul, buy plan tickets, and try. If all else fails you can settle down there." He said.
"But just so you know, your heart slows down on land."
"What?!" She shouted.
"You better find that ring, or your heart will slow down, and you will die." He said. His words left her scared more then she already was. When she wanted to come on land she was not prepared for this.

Later the man helped her buy plan tickets, some clothes, and other things she would need.
"By the way sir, I haven't got your name."
"My name's Noor, what's yours?" He asked.
"I'm (Y/n)." He smiled at her.
"I was about your age when I got here."
"How long have you been here? Doesn't your heart slow down?" She curiously asked him.
"I've been here for about 45 years, I was 20 when I first came. I do go back into the ocean for months and come back." He said as they both sat at a restaurant.
"Oh, don't you get lonely?" She asked.
"Not for the first 30 years, my wife died 15 years ago." He sadly smiled.
"I'm sorry to hear that..." she said.
"Was she one of us?"
"No, she was human, that's why she died easily." He said. (Y/n) didn't want to question him further, she could tell this was an sensitive topic.
"So you're leaving in 2 days?" He said as they finished ordering.
"Yea, that's what the ticket says."
"How'd you learn how to read, and speak English?" He asked.
"Well all my friends who've gone on land thought me! I've always wanted to go, so I know 5 languages. Little did I know I'd have to die here." She said. The waitress came with their food and they started eating.
"There's another way you can stay here and not die."
"What is it?" She was eager to hear it.
"If you find true love." He said.
"Just like how I did until my wife died."
"Most my friends say love on land is dangerous." She implied.
"Not if it's true love. You never know that guy may be looking to know who saved him." He said and chuckled.
"No way! I just want my ring."
"Well good luck with that."
After eating, the kind man let her stay the next two days in his house that was near the hut. He always wanted a daughter, but sadly having half mermaid children is very rare. Only a few bare to have them, some die in labor. Just like his wife.
The next two days went by easily, (y/n) did lots of research on who the guy she saved was, thanks to Noor's help. He was a kpop star, it was gonna be hard getting in touch with him.
(Y/n) was ready and very determined to find her ring. Little did she know, Jimin was as much as determined to find who she was.
