POV (Point of view) : Evelyn Summers.

Date: March 22nd.
Time: 3:22 AM.
I heard a scream. My eyes shot open. I could hear some noises coming in from downstairs.
I pulled the bedsheets away from my face and walked slowly to the door.
I switched on my light. Suddenly the sound of a gunshot echoed through the hallways of my house.
My breath caught in my throat.
I picked up my phone and dialled Casie's number. She was the only I knew to be my best friend.
The phone rang and rang, but no one picked it up. DAMN CASIE! She must've switched off the phone.
I looked around my room for a weapon. ANYTHING!
There it was, my pogo stick. It was better than nothing. I waited by the door. Not even daring to breathe.
I heard voices.
"Where do you think her room is?"
"It's this one!" someone said.
I thought of yelling, but what good would that do, except make my position obvious.
Suddenly, someone started banging on my door.
I gasped. I ran to my closet. There was a little amount of space. In the back of my mind, I wondered if my parents were okay. Something told me they weren't.
The banging stopped. But the clicking started, they were trying to pick the lock I put on the door. Then came the hissing. I wondered why there was hissing.
Before I could even think, smoke filled the room. I ran into the bathroom, looking for some ventilation. I did not know what to do. I went into my bathtub and shut the binds. I lay very still.
I checked the time on my watch. 3:27 AM.
I had hardly slept for 40 minutes.
It was very quite. I was the only one there. I held my head in hands and cried. I didnt know why I was crying, but it just came. The tears, flowing....
Footsteps. I jerked my head up. I knew that was a mistake. Movement. They could sense movement. I closed my eyes and lay still again. It was a guy, I could guess looking at his silhouette.
His breathing was slow, very normal, compared to my non-breathing.
His hand hovered over the curtain. I held on to the pogo stick. He slided it open.
For a minute, neither of us said anything. Just looked at each other. Then I screamed.
He smiled wickedly and slapped my across the face. It hurt. He slapped me hard enough that I fell back into the tub. I felt something hot and sticky flow across my face. He lifted me up, using my hair and banged my head to the wall.
Then, he pulled me to his chest and stroked my hair. He laughed. He started feeling me.
"Alex! Not with this girl..." said another voice.
I looked up to see a boy of about my age. He had brown wavy hair and beautiful blue eyes.
"Whats your problem kid? let the adults do the work." His hand hovered over my chest.
"STOP." Nathan said, his voice firm.
"Oh, I SEE. You've got the hots for her." The man snickered, and threw me back into the tub.
