Dungeon

As I read the book of life,

The word suddenly appeared.

It made my heart leap;

It's a word to be feared.

It stole me from my studies.

It took me away.

It happened so fast-

Blinded, I didn't pray.

I wanted the excitement

Promised by this word.

I searched through the play store.

Into the trap I was lured.

Judging game after game

As no good for me,

I finally found one,

Let's try it and see.

I failed at that one

And tried another.

Eventually I found

That too was a bother.

Finally giving up,

I went to bed.

Forgetting completely

What the Bible had said.

The next day as I read

The same chapter anew.

Nothing seemed familiar.

To me 'twas all new.

Then I reached the end

And I saw the word then.

I read the word "dungeon,"

And it started all over again.

No! Not again!

My mind screamed at me.

Pray! Pray now!

Before you get carried away!

And this time, I won.
